Need help. I have one speedo on my 86 that has been inoperable since i bought it. The guy said he thought "the diaphram froze and ruptured" and that it would need to be completely replaced.

Can this speedo be reworked?

or do i need to check something else out?

thanks in advance everyone

Have you tried switching the hoses on the back of the gauges, this might eliminate if there is a problem from there going back to the pickups.

i haven't yet. the first time i got under the dash and looked the hose on the gauge that was broken was pulled off and had a golf tee in the end of it. I replaced both pickups last year.
