The fins on my 87 SN are not all in perfect alignment. One is noticeably bent. Elberts wants $165 per fin. Is there a place to send the fins that will straighten them like prop repair?

Bill,I do know that they can be straightened. I straightened my own once after "unloading" the boat on the ramp once. I used a Hydropress that we have here at work and it straightened it from about 45' back to 90. a bearing press or body shop that has one might be able to straighten for you. If you were closer to ATL I'd do it for you.

I had one straightened by a local prop guy here in KC, he charged $20.00.

The prop guy I went to told me to be careful about straightening the fins without heating them up, that they might break. However, they get bent in the first place without being hot. So . . .I dunno

I used a torch, a 10lb mallet and my large anvil to create some really amazing curves that might be great for designing a motocross track but have no real use on a tracking fin. Found a machine shop guy that said he can help. Thanks for all your input.
