I figured I'd ask so I don't have to unwrap my motor and count.
How many teeth on the flywheel of the 351. |

157 teeth on a marine 351 w flywheel unlike what you'd find on an automotive one for a 351w that has 164 teeth

Yep the flywheel should cross to a 64 mustang if you trying to find parts from automotive sources

No you can get a manual transmission flywheel for a 64 ford mustang and it will come with a ring gear... or you can get one of those ring gears and put it on your flywheel. Will some 351w automotive flywheel cross over maybe. - but mostly no

Checking my records from 2009 apparently I bought this One for my 408 - apparently that was with someone elses wallet...
If you are looking for cheaper options than the Jegs I could find you a stock one in the shop somewhere.. |

Here's a Ford flywheel number that fits or that you could use for a cross reference.
C6ZE=6380-A This was from a mid 80's 351 marine engine. The C6 at the start tells you it was originally cast in 1966. Gary gave you ring gear numbers a few posts back. Along with Joe's 64 Mustang, I like to use a 67 Mustang with a 289 and a 4 speed to find these parts. Can't use later 302 stuff due to the difference in balance. You need 28 oz. imbalance, 289's and early 302's had that but later 302's had 50 oz. imbalance which would be good for turning your engine into a paint mixer with the vibes you'd have |

Looks to me like it would work and it's a reasonable price or you could get one of Joe's stock flywheels that he mentioned.he has hanging around. I'm glad Joe bought that high dollar one with somebody else's money |
