Why Mitt Romney is Unlikable!

A lot is being said in the media about Mitt Romney not being "likable" or that he doesn't "relate well" to people. Frankly, we struggled to understand why. So after much research, we have come up with a Top Ten List to explain this "unlikablility."

Top Ten Reasons To Dislike Mitt Romney:

1. Drop-dead, collar-ad handsome with gracious, statesmanlike aura. Looks like every central casting's #1 choice for Commander-in-Chief.

2. Been married to ONE woman his entire life, and has been faithful to her, including through her bouts with breast cancer and MS.

3. No scandals or skeletons in his closet. (How boring is that?)

4. Can't speak in a fake, southern, "black preacher voice" when necessary.

5. Highly intelligent. Graduated cum laude from both Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School...and by the way, his academic records are NOT sealed.

6. Doesn't smoke or drink alcohol, and has never done drugs, not even in the counter-culture age when he went to college. Too square for today's America?

7. Represents an America of "yesterday", where people believed in God, went to Church, didn't screw around, worked hard, and became a SUCCESS!

8. Has a family of five great sons....and none of them have police records or are in drug rehab. But of course, they were raised by a stay-at-home mom, and that "choice" deserves America 's scorn.

9. Oh yes.....he's a MORMON. We need to be very afraid of that very strange religion that teaches its members to be clean-living, patriotic, fiscally conservative, charitable, self-reliant, and honest.

10. And one more point.....pundits say because of his wealth, he can't relate to ordinary Americans. I guess that's because he made that moneyHIMSELF..... as opposed to marrying it or inheriting it from Dad. Apparently, he didn't understand that actually working at a job and earning your own money made you unrelatable to Americans.

My goodness, it's a strange world, isn't it?

*****************************************************

Personal Information:

His full Name is: Willard Mitt Romney.

He was Born: March 12, 1947 and is 65 years old.

His Father: George W. Romney, former Governor of the State of Michigan.

He was raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

He is Married to Ann Romney since 1969; they have five children.

Education:

B.A. from Brigham Young University, J.D. and M.B.A. from Harvard University.

Religion:

Mormon - The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints.

Working Background:

After high school, he spent 30 months in France as a Mormon missionary.

After going to both Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School simultaneously, he passed the Michigan bar exam, but never worked as an attorney.

In 1984, he co-founded Bain Capital a private equity investment firm, one of the largest such firms in the United States.

In 1994, he ran for Senator of Massachusetts and lost to Ted Kennedy.

He was President and CEO of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.

In 2002, he was elected Governor of the State of Massachusetts where he eliminated a 1.5 billion deficit.

Some Interesting Facts about Romney:

Bain Capital, starting with one small office supply store in Massachusetts, turned it into Staples; now over 2,000 stores employing 90,000 people.

Bain Capital also worked to perform the same kinds of business miracles again and again, with companies

like Domino's, Sealy, Brookstone, Weather Channel, Burger King, Warner Music Group, Dollarama, Home Depot Supply and many others.

He was an unpaid volunteer campaign worker for his dad's gubernatorial campaign 1 year.

He was an unpaid intern in his dad's governor's office for eight years.

He was an unpaid bishop and state president of his church for ten years.

He was an unpaid President of the Salt Lake Olympic Committee for three years.

He took no salary and was the unpaid Governor of Massachusetts for four years.

He gave his entire inheritance from his father to charity.

Mitt Romney is one of the wealthiest self-made men in our country but has given more back to its citizens in terms of money, service and time than most men.

And in 2011 Mitt Romney gave over $4 million to charity, almost 19% of his income. Just for comparison purposes, Obama gave 1% and Joe Biden gave $300 or ..0013%.

Mitt Romney is Trustworthy:

He will show us his birth certificate.

He will show us his high school and college transcripts.

He will show us his social security card.

He will show us his law degree.

He will show us his draft notice.

He will show us his medical records.

He will show us his income tax records.

He will show us he has nothing to hide.

Mitt Romney's background, experience and trustworthiness show him to be a great leader and an excellent citizen for President of the United States.

You may think that Romney may not be the best representative the Republicans could have selected. At least I know what religion he is, and that he won't desecrate the flag, bow down to foreign powers, or practice fiscal irresponsibility. I know he has the ability to turn this financial debacle that the current regime has gotten us into. We won't like all the things necessary to recover from this debt, but someone     with Romney's background can do it. But, on the minus side, he never was a"Community Organizer", never took drugs or smoked pot, never got drunk, did not associate with communists or terrorists, nor did he attend a church whose pastor called for God to damn the US. [Oooops!]

You just brightened my day, I can't stop laughing.

I giggle too. I really am tolerant of everyone's views, and if he does appear, it may as well be in Arkansas. It is beautiful and there are a lot of nice people down there besides Bill Clinton!

Yea, someone must have misled it in fiction. Here it is from Mormon.org. you should check it out!

We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.

Read more at Mormon.org.

Not knocking it any more than other religions, just seems kinda odd to me.
Worship as you wish, but be knowledgeable of others beliefs when you do.

I think Mitt is very likable. The Democrats and/or Lame Stream Media are trying to portray him as just the opposite to create thier own narrative. Something tells me the good Reverands Al and John are getting nervous about team Romney....as is Obama. I think they are right to do so.

BTW, is lame street anyone who holds views different than yours? Do you really believe any of the popular media are not lame? To me, they are all lame, really nothing more than a vehicle to establish a revenue stream by hawking the latest boner pill or what have you.

No John, it goes much deeper than just which entertainment content NBC, CBS, and ABC have chosen as the best avenue to hawk Viagra. I truly believe that the so called "main stream" (aka lame stream) media is truly very liberal and everything they do is from that perspective, whether they realize it or not. Of course, since that tends to be your perpspective as well, you may not see what I see. You are probably wondering what the hell I am talking about.

A study was just done, and approx. 60%+ of American people believe that the "accomplished media" is promoting Obama's re-election campaign. Just watch any of the Big 3 network news. Not much in the way of hard news, and they seem to do soft fluffy segments on the sex life of the Artic Tuxedo penguin. When it comes to politics, its very obvious to me they ALWAYS present Conservatives in a negative light, and ALWAYS present Liberals/Obama in the most positive light.

Why do you think Fox News has seen their ratings rise so much in the past 10 or so years. People were hungry for a news outlet that reflected their viewpoints, and were tired of having the liberal viewpoint shoved up our arses.

Hi David.
It is very clear where Fox News stands. They operate like a mafia, violating law, violating the rights of private citizens, and doing anything, legal or not, to promote themselves. They have identified a core of followers who have some of the same beliefs, and they are a good source of revenue for the sponsors, and for the Rupert Murdoch organization. Possibly you have heard the news on some of their activities, but then, maybe not if you watch Fox News. The illegal activity, deceit, and lies, by the Murdoch organization, not only to the public, but to investigators is without equal in journalism. Murdoch made his fortune in tabloids, and his organization's sensationalism and disregard for the truth has made Fox News nothing short of National Enquirer status. Three investigations have led to more than 60 arrests including dozens of current and former journalists, some of whom held senior positions in the Murdoch organization. Believe them if you want, but I choose not to believe anyone associated with an organization that is unable to tell the truth in sworn testimony, but I'm sure they wouldn't lie to you.

Ruppert Murdoch did the stand up thing, and quickly closed the tabloid in Great Britain that caused the trouble. I certainly don't like what they did over there, but, that is NOT Fox News in the U.S. run by Roger Ailes. Apples and oranges.

I would greatly appreciate hearing what lies, deceit, and illegal activities the Fox New Channel has perpetuated.

Do you choose to believe all the "frothing at the mouth" libs over at MSNBC? Not me. I can take them for about five minutes before I have to turn them off.

You know, there is hard news, opinion shows, and tabloids. One must learn the difference between them. I would be interested in hearing what news source you get your information from, and you think is credible.

PS: It was Fox News that discovered NBC's doctored audio tape. This a great example of the liberal bias and dishonest tactics the "lame street" media uses.

Come on John, that would be like saying that since Obama is corrupt and came up through politics the Chicago way that all the staff and departments below him are bad also, like Holder, Napolitano, the GSA, the stimulus spending, fast and furious,....um sorry bad example, but you know what I mean

Seth, can you actually refute any of it, or are you still looking at fiction? A blanket wishful statement does not make it true.

The lord rested on the seventh day, but he did not have Obama to worry about at the time.
For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

Its raining. Might as well point out the mainstream medial liberal bias

Actually, I took advantage of some downtime and got news tires for the boat trailer today. After 36 years of use, the old/originals were starting to wear out.

News tires?
Well if they are Fox News tires I'm sure they are bias ply, full of hot air, and pull to the right!

Enjoy those tires, I hope you have better luck with them than you did with that pair that couldn't even make 40 years.

Dave, 36 years!!! I had a tire throw a tread on our trip "up north" earlier this month. The trailer is a '03. The tire that let go was date coded '08. Decided to replace both ... nothing 250 bucks couldnt fix...

Vs. the "mainstream" tires, only fit the left side. Crap that is not balanced and overinflated but they throw it out there hoping it might get some traction. I love a good tire pun.

Steve.....yes, only 36 years out of those SOB's. I am highly disappointed!! I like to get value for my money. We towed the boat up to Delavan a couple of weeks ago, and I noticed that a big chunk of tread was missing. The tire actually never went flat. I could have probably made it last another four years, but, I figured why push it. I knew they were original because the size on the tires was F78. I don't think the tire mfgs. have used that designation since around '80.

Besides, I figure with this Obama-conomy we have right now, I might as well throw a few bucks at it to help stimulate it. I bought a couple of Carlisles (made in the USA) for $80/each plus mounting. That should really get things going now. Everyone hang on for the ride!

Overall, the 73 runs FANTASTIC!!! The SN is the only boat we've been using this summer. We took it north for a week in early August.

Been "updating" a few things. Kind of like your tires, decided it was time to replace the original fuel pump and rubber gas lines (dated 1973). Installed a new DUI dizzy. Also, doing a lot of misc detailing stuff.

Best thing? The "Mrs." likes it a lot as well! How you say... "win-win"!!

BTW, We lucked out as well when the tire threw its tread, it did not go flat. We ended up driving 15 miles, at 30mph,to reach a good 'ol Farm & Fleet.
