Depth sounder setting /2000 Sport nautiqiue

I am having a problem setting the depth sounder in my boat. I think it is a hummingbird but really not sure. Just a small round gauge that displays depth. You can set low mark and deep mark. Any suggestions? It has 3 buttons on bottom of the gauge. Up and down on the sides and a set button in the middle.
