Would the windshield on the nautique be an indication of the year it was made? Ive been told now that the boat is an 89 and an 86. Im looking at the windshield on the boat and its two pieces with the frame splitting it in the middle. I notice looking around on this site the only boats that have that glass are 88's at least from what I can tell. In the water the other day I also saw that the number stamped into the boat at the right of the stern ends in 88. Any thoughts on what year this thing is ?

If the number stamped on the right side of the transom ends in 88, then the boat is an 88.

BKH is right, check the serial number. CC went back and forth a couple of times on the 2001 series of boats (which I'm assuming yours is) with split and one piece windshields.

82-86 Ski nautiques have air scoop in the middle of the top deck.
87-89 the vents are under the base of the windsheild.
It makes a difference when ordering a custom cover.

Thanks everybody, Ya its a 2001. I kinda thought it made sense that a ser num ending in 88 would indicate a year. And I have to check but Im fairly certain that the air scoop is at the base of the glass.

Funny that 86 or 89 would both be wrong since they had 1 piece glass, the split windshields were 87 & 88.
