Traded the '92 in Monday.

It was a sad day as we drove off in our new boat. Felt a little dirty. Like we were cheating on our old boat. Definitely a bitter sweet day.

When I asked how the inspection went on the old girl, they said she was in amazing shape for the amount of hours on her. No leaks anywhere. No cracks in heads. Compression showed a low of 150 and a high of 155 between all 8 jugs. Not bad for 23 years and 1820 hours.

Wifey and I will sure miss the CC, but may be back one day as we really enjoyed the boat.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this site for being so helpful over the past 2.5 years.

Wanted to as the dealership never asked for the cover the day we looked at the newer boat. We dropped off the CC and thought we were good to go. I PM'd trbenj and then the dealership called asking for the cover. They said she was too nice to leave outside uncovered. So I had to bring it in yesterday when we picked up the new boat.

We wound up getting a 2012 Sea Doo Challenger 210 SE. I'm familiar with the drivetrains as I've worked on them in the past. She's very salt water friendly and seats plenty of people.

Wifey is happy, but we do miss the CC. Wish we could have kept both. We like how low the CC rode in the water. You could simply just reach out or over and get a hand in the spray. We miss the rumble and lumpy idle of the big V8.

The new boat is fast and rides beautifully through the chop, but it's completely different, as we knew it would be, from the CC.

Please don't beat me up too bad, but here's pics of the new boat in the drive after our maiden voyage. Wifey is inside cleaning. I cut my toe at the ramp and bled all over the deck inside. Good thing the snap in carpet wasn't installed.

Feel free to go around telling people you still own the 92 SN and comment on it's performance relative to other boats.

And every time you tell a story related to your boat, make the engine bigger, the boat faster and the wake better...kinda like fishermen when they talk about their catch

After owning a classic CC for our first boat, We could never say anything bad about them. Ours was amazing aside from the gel coat cracking issue. She ran like a champ and drove amazing. We were so impressed with ours, that we wouldn't hesitate to get another one if we were looking to go fresh water only again in the future. She was a great boat for 2.5 years we owned her. I hope she goes to a good home.

$6K without even seeing it. I'm sure I could have got more had I held out (maybe $500-1000 more...MAYBE), but it was fair for a trade and extremely convenient as opposed to having 2 boats in my driveway and having to list and show the boat while trying to enjoy the new one.

No one was ready to pull the trigger immediately. Of course, once she sold, they were all like, "Hey, I totally would have bought it if I had more time."

Probably better for us as none of our friends would be able to maintain the boat themselves and we would have either had to help with all the maintenance or felt guilty if anything went wrong. They missed out on a solid boat, but I think it will be better for all of us in the long run.
