I am trying to find a rare rear engine configuration Mustang with an outdrive. Anyone ever hear of one?

Woody, We have a lot of people on this site that have been around CC's a long time. Since none have responded from your original post 10 days ago, I'm starting to wonder if the Mustang you remember was a custom modification that someone did. Where was the boat? Have you contacted CC and if so, what did they say?

Thanks for your response. After going through all the brochures, I found it. It is actually a 1975 Seperator. I owned one of these for about 4 years and it was sold to me as a Mustang. Being new to CC's at the time I didn't know any better. Unfortunatley, I had to sell it and now I am desperatly looking to find one to restore. If you ever hear of one, please let me know.

woody, There is one available in the for sale section.
http://www.correctcraftfan.com/diaries/searchresults.asp?yrstart=&yrend=&model=separator&state=&Forsale=Yes&pricestart=&priceend=&sortBy=&Submit=Search+Diaries The early Separators had the bubble winshields but since most people didn't care for the "Batmobile" look, they changed to the regular winshields. Most had the V drives instead of the I/O's. |

Yes, I saw that one. I am looking for a regular windshield. The one I had you could open them from the bottom to let air through on hot days. A V-Drive would be OK. The one I had had an outdrive like the one in the 1975 brochure.

Woody, Do you remember the year of the boat? It must have been a later version with the vents in the bottom of the windshield. I feel you would be better off with a V drive than the I/O.

Dont know if you saw it or not, and it doesnt do you much good because its sold, but there was a recent thread on a 70 torino i/o. They are pretty scarce best I can tell. Have only seen mention of a few on this site. The one Scott bought and restored, one that tryan had and sold about 3 years ago and one that sold in connecticut a few years ago. Oh yeah, almost forget, there was a real wreck of one for sale in a boat yard in florida. Any one ever know what came of that one?
Good luck with your search. They are neat little boats. I'd like one myself. torino thread |
