   i have a 74 mustang 17, and recently there has been three more cc's bought on the creek i live on.  the original speedometer is broken.  i have talked with the other owners on my creek and their speedos have either been replaced or are still broken.  i was wondering if anyone else has this problem or if anyone knows if they were porely made. please respond

	I am no expert by anymeans, but it seems to me that an "airguide" speedometer must be airtight, in order to sense the pressure and convert that pressure to MPH. I guess I would make sure the pickup is clean and the line has no leaks, kinks, holes. Mine work great, although one reads 5mph less than the other.

	Our 74 mustang speedo works great. Its the original teleflex. It didnt work for years cause the large brass dampning tube was split. I soldered it together, and checked the rest of the line for any leaks. I checked it with a radar gun and its dead on the whole way. You can check the speedo gauge by disconnecting the hose to it and blow like hell in it. it should make 10 mph or so. A air compessor is easier if available. Our 76 mustang had a split copper line and would read low all the time.
