Quote For sale is an original 1980 Correct Craft Mustang speed-boat. It has been stored for 25 years. It has 200 Hours on it. Too fast for the little grand kids.
[/QUOTE]

This is the same ad that was posted last summer with the exception of it being listed as an 82 or 83. The picture in the ad supported the year range due to the windshield style.

Ad states that the boat comes with a full canvas cover in good condition. Good condition due to the lack of use. Why?

I believe that is correct, except for 82/83, when CC decided to try to give the 16 mustang one final chance. It obviously was not a big seller as 83 the last year. I looked at a new one when I was boat shopping way back then but the 10,500 price tag was a bit much for me.

I like how for many Craigslist listers, any piece of crap with a 50 hp force motor is either a "speed" boat or a "ski" boat. Not that that mustang is a piece of crap, but you know what I mean.

Note to sellers: If you're trying to sell a boat, take the 10-15 minutes to at least clean out the piles of leaves and debris from inside of it!

I wonder what's left of the engine. It looks like everything is there, if not particularly well kept. A 351 in a Tique... Is that one of the longer hull ones? It looks like the larger observers seat.

Certainly not the worst $1,000 boat I've seen here.

You're right, there is no 80 Mustang. The one I like is the 83 anyway, same scheme as the 80 Martinique.

The ad he posted on the 20th without pictures states "Will take best offer for fast sale". It is definitely worth saving. If I hadn't obligated myself to have the back yard redone this May I would have left work already and have driven down there by now. I always wanted one of these since seeing one at the Boston Boat Show way back in the day.

But Bret then they'd have to raise the price due to all the "work" they did restoring it

That one could even tempt me .... except the high likelihood of needing a stringer job. Otherwise could be put back into decent shape. Could probably fix it up and offer it to Larry for $10,500!

Ok, somebody straighten this out for me...I didn't think there was such a creature as an 80 mustang, I thought they were done before that...so I went to the brochures, the mustang is listed in 79, absent in 80 & 81, then back in 82 & 83, then gone in 84...is that right? Did they skip two years?

The 82-84 Ski Tique is really a rebadged 70-81 Ski Nautique but with a tapered chine. 18'. It was available with the 351.

The 82-83 Mustang is a rebadged 76-81 Ski Tique (plus others before it: Skier, Mustang etc) but with a very short tapered chine. 16'.

1998 Air Nautique - $12000 (Wilmington)

A 98 for $12,000 could be a good deal? Ugly interior, and do you really believe it has never been in salt water?
