That golden lion is a beautiful piece of machinery. Bet those dual 4bbls sounds cool when the secondaries open on both carbs.

Edit: John, that 93 is stunning.

1985 Sea Nautique? Looked it up in the reference section. The closest I could find was an illustration in the 1984 brochure. If it is legit there can't be many.

The 425 hp 427 ford actually made it into CC literature as an option so I always hold out hope someone ordered a marauder with one and its stuck in a barn somewhere. I also assume someone somewhere had some of the dual carb higher compression chyrsler wedge engine in a wildcat or two.... the 426 hemi marine unicorn - I don't even dream that rich.

Wow, crazy stuff. They still sell the intake manifold (p/n P4510633) here: http://www.mopartsracing.com/parts/hemi.html

Still digging for a picture of an actual production 426 marine hemi installed in a boat- an elusive beast for sure.

I have no idea but there's got to be ONE of these somewhere. The thought that they even exist gets the juices flowing. My 1st gen hemi is cool but that beast has over 2.5 times the HP than mine as it left the factory. There are a few holy grail nostalgic marine engines and that has to be right up there near the top of the list.

Not to hijack the thread but.... Hard to read but both adds state marine and 426 Ci.   525 HP at 6500 rpm, 490 lb/ft torque @ 4000 rpm. 12.5:1 Compression ratio.

Doubtful one of these ever made it into a Correct craft but apparently they were available. YUM

Talked to the guy on the super sport this afternoon. He said he got it off an older guy who bought it for his grandkids but then they weren't interested so the boat only has 18.5 hours and has not been registered since 1999 - so the boat has sat for the last16 yrs. he prefaced the hours discussion with "you aren't gonna believe me in a million years but..." He also says it fires up but doesn't idle due to bad gas from being so old but I'd be worried about potential compression issues if the engine wasn't put up correctly. Based on the photos you can't see whether there's a front cushion, and as others have pointed out, photos of the engine hatch are missing. The guy said he will email me photos but we'll see. If it's gone so be it. I believe the low hours story based on the condition of the dash key panel and stereo panel. Those were known to crack at the screws because they are brittle and subject stress as the boat bounces over waves. Notice they are completely in tact and I'm not aware if available replacements. I agree that the cushion skins look a little on the cracked side, but from what little you can tell the back rests look okay, so replacing the bottom cushions wouldn't bee to big of a deal. We'll see if he sends photos. Could be a deal but it's not without a few risks in terms of the engine sitting that long. If you have to put an engine in it the price is off by 1-2g's if you compare to other running boats that are turnkey - but those also have more than 20 hrs on the hull so who knows. Hull also looks a little chalky- well explained by no wax in 16 years? I suppose I'd expect this a little even if kept indoors.

I'm looking at the images that skip the sun deck. Rear cushions are cashed.....probably needs all new skins. $2000. what are the hours? 400? 600? 750?

If you don't want calls, pull the ad.

I'm now officially looking for a Super Sport 1996-1999 or so. Got my eyes on another, but I'm not going to blab about it since that only reduces my chances dramatically!😇

I just guessing but maybe he set it up that way so it would fit in the garage. It looks like from one of the photo's with the garage door down that this just may be the case. I hope he is close to the ramp.

One of my pet peeves. Ads that state low hours but the hours aren't mentioned. If the hours are low wouldn't the seller want to proudly post them?! But if this super sport had 1,000+ hrs it still would be worth a look with that asking price..

HW was referring to the 79.

It looks like they just extended the bunks and slid the bow stop forward, tongue weight be damned! I bet it's 18" too far forward and the tongue weight is 500+ lbs. Between that and the graphics (agreed- color match is poor, though it was unlikely the light blue originally), he sure did a bang up job. The thing I like most about it (original vinyl) he points out as a minus!

That SS won't last long at all.

Not so much - if it's a 66 with a 426 it's likely a 290 hp - relatively tame version - a marinized max wedge setup would be big money but other than it being a relatively rare block that is sometimes sought out to produce a max wedge clone there is nothing exciting to command a premium with the marine 426. Other than badging or casting marks it is indistinguishable from a 440. Would be nice of there were motor pics - either way the rest looks dead on original to a 1966 wildcat and running with salvageable gel it would be a very nice boat for someone. I'm in Atlanta now but I doubt they will let me add it to my checked luggage.
