so a little update. got the Promo home to Florida a couple weeks ago. Thanx to Scott and Jana for having us up to Alabama for the weekend. Got to visit the Shop and the famous Boat House. All very cool. Scott had the trailer all set....no issues at all on the tow home. Used the trick HW showed me on the magnetic trailer lights from Tractor Supply.Scott also did some leg work on the paper work so when we got it home it was no problem to get it in my name. So far have removed the interior..seats are at the upholstry shop being redone. Thanx to Greg Fossett and Chris Mars for the tip in this magic wheel thing the graphics are coming off pretty easy. Much easier than the old heat gun. Surprisingly it looks like it is gonna buff out pretty well. No engine work yet as my mechanic/ski partner Eddie has been busy remodeling his kitchen. Yes....I have pictures but not much hope of me getting them on here. Ms Patti & I will have the boat at the River to show it off...running or not.

John,

Nice boat, It looks very familiar. I worked on buying the same or a similar boat back in July 2019 from a guy near Muscle Shoals, AL. He said it had a Chrysler 318 motor if I remember right. They sold it before I could put the deal together. Congratulations on the find.

thanx guys for all the comments........yup I am pretty excited. Sorry Dan....but the minute I saw it and Ms Patti gave me the ok....I jumped on it. Scott Zuelzke made it all easy....doing all the leg work for me.

That boat of JMurphs is the one Bill and I used at White Lake.

I am told it is a 318.......but couldn't prove it by me. I won"t be under the motor box unless I have adult supervision.

Richard....thanx for the link.....Ms Patti now thinks I got a deal!

you guys all know I am a big Vols fan....but this purchase has nothing to do with that........all about the Promo.

Hopefully it will be running enough to have it at the River Run.......

They are one of the great classics.  I spent a good part of a day driving John Murphy's  a couple years ago at White Lake when we all pulled the famous wakeboarder and must have received a 100 compliments on that beautiful boat.

Well if your gonna come back to the family at least you did with class and style by landing a Orange Promo. All I ask of you is don't disgrace that boat and slap a big White T on the side of it. Only Convicts and UT fans wear orange! Congrats JBear. I look forward to driving your new boat!

Not my purchase. Simply posted the pictures for John. John is a Vol’s fan so it is kinda fitting he adds this to his long list of Correct Crafts owned.

I don't think either of the facebook adds ever discussed the engine.  This is the boat in our craigslist thread a couple of us mentioned was likely a promo.  Here is the last active add:  https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1162033250837403/

Greg nice grab!  And you got a new tower as a bonus!

I talked with the wife about grabbing this myself, but there is a problem with having an orange boat in Tennessee.  Everyone at the ramp, gas stations, and on the lake would assume I am a Vol fan and rocky top would come out blaring on their speakers.  I could not go there as an Ole MIss Rebel fan.  I am glad you will have that boat in the land of Carolina / Duke blue where you can appreciate its color.
