Looks like I need a rebuildable or usable water pump for my 61 CC 100 hp intercepter. I had a guy pull mine apart and he damaged the housing and shaft so here I am with a new inpeller and seals and bad housing.
Jabsco 8470 pump. Thanks |

Thomas,
What's the extent of the damage to the housing? |

The guy who took it apart, evidently beat the shaft out of the housing to get the impeller out. That in turn damaged a bearing? or something like a pressed bushing that the shaft went thru to the housing. It actually looked like some tiny wound springs that the shaft fit into.
I am kinda talking about something I really dont know about here, but maybe in the AM I can go down to the repair shop and try for a picture. Thanks Pete, TF |

Thomas,
From your previous post:
So, you got the parts and then your "mechanic" went at the pump with a hammer? Bearings, bushings and seals can be replaced. The discontinued housing would be the problem. Take a good look at the pump, get back to us and then please, find someone without the hammer!! |

Yea, that's what I did, new guy has been working on boats all his life. I think he will try to save it, but has some doubts.
Thanks, |
