I should have elaborated. I don't dislike Harleys I just hate all of the style of things that go along with it. I hated all of the tribal crap they used to put on the boats and I don't like old English style fonts etc. I like plain, simple, clean, designs. I would love to own a Iron 883 or a Nightster. You just wouldn't see me wearing chaps and biker club T shirts. |

Awesome thread and comments. I like them all, especially Tim's updates. I figured he would chime in on the finer details as I worked off a picture of my Skier transom san hardware. Nicely done! These are going to be sweet!

Admittedly I know noting about i/o's so I really shouldn't say anything but the brochures only show it at as 60hp option, so it can't be a very big out drive.

To make it more un-like Harley we could change it to: "Loud Pipes Drown-out Wives" |

I would think so too, but that's what I was told... And it was from a good source, IIRC. Art maybe? |

I agree the version of the boats with Tim's tweaks looks a lot better.

No correlation on year. My '69 and '70 both have the padded transom. Older boats did as well. One of the molds probably had it built in- someone said it was for the I/o version. I think it's the most distinctive transom cc ever made, the pad has to stay! |

I like Tim's adjustments, but I'm shocked he did not add a 3-blade acme.
and yes, I would remove the external lifting ring block bump. edit: and the uni-brow is too high. (wet foam) |

Keep that up and Alan may hire you as a head designer Tim. The motor box is a definite must as well as the rope guard. Wouldn't it be correct on an older boat with the center rear scoops to not have the mid section on the transom and just the swept line? I forget if there was a correlation year wise on this or it was completely random when it did and did not surface. |

Not if its just an outline, like the rest of the boat...it could be a can with the tab sticking up, or a bottle with no cap and a line halfway down |

If people were cool with the bubbles, I was going to take it a step further and suggest we add this little guy underneath to the left: I guess you're right to keep it simple though |
