Exactly how do I change the packing? Should I go dripless if so which kind? Any great tips much appreciated.

Hey Brewski,
I just ordered the gor-tex packing from skidim; I need to redo both my shaft and rudder. The gor-tex is promoted as "almost dripless." I'll let you know how that goes. If you do a search on this site you will find several threads that are very helpful in the how to's of repacking.

I just intalled the same on the 76 Mustang 17 and it works slick!! It runs cool and no dripping. You also need not to tighten the packing nut very tight to get to run cold and not drip!! I put 3 rings in the stuffing box.
