That side that looks like aluminum is probably magnetic and made of steel.
Stick a magnet on it and you'll be surprised |

The shiny,silver, metallic side faces out toward the manifold.
That comes from Fel Pro and nobody knows gaskets like they do |

Just ordered an exhaust manifold gasket from DIM for my '74 PCM 351. The site says the felt side goes toward the manifold and aluminum side toward the head. That seems backward since more heat is on the manifold side. The factory gasket seems to have the metal side facing to manifold too. Does anyone have any advice for me?
