I agree, everyone's eerily silent on this subject and I've been checking this thread daily for the outcome. Perhaps Reid is tied up at the moment, trying to figure out how he's going to tow TWO boats home!?!

Even from that angle, which is indeed a bit different from all the shots we've seen before,....I still like it!! However I do feel a little more confident about the race now.

Hey guys, don’t know how to break it to ya but I saw the fabled orange boat IN PERSON a few weeks ago. Doesn’t look NEARLY as good in person as it does in the pics you see on this site. I was disappointed to say the least!

Now I’m no dummy but a few things confused me about the boat:

1- Isn’t the prop in the wrong place? (Does that behindpropeller fella know something we don’t?)

2- Not just the prop but look at the dang engine…409 hp my butt!

3- Does that match the definition for an inboard?

4- Where the heck is the pylon?

Now photographic, non-photoshopped proof of how the boat really looks:

shouldn't be much of a race...

As cool as his boat is...watching Eddie foot is even better. Was honored to be in the 6 man with him at Reid's last summer.

Joe, do you by chance have a 5 point harness/belt and maybe a HANS device you could bring along, so I can confidently and safely give rides? For some simple math that most have already figured out by now: Whatever Reid says\2 = the truth. However, you might want to divide by 10 in this case.

And TimD, I forgot to add a nice thank-you for that flattering and encouraging artwork above. I'll have it appropriately displayed.

I've got confirmed good news. Well not necessarily good for me or Dave, but for the rest of the boat race fans. It looks most definite now that Eddie Johnson will be bringing his pristine 1990 retrofitted Python BFN to LG. Did someone already mention that a Python has more than 409 HP?

Tips my butt, as now you have an idea as to who MY ringer of a driver is. Remember this shot below, don't you? Well, it's actually Skipper on the throttle, and when she came back in and we checked the GPS, she was 2.38 mph faster than me or anyone else. I'm only announcing this now as I think it's too late for Dave to make anymore improvements to the 4-0-Behind. And if Bagley's all Dave's got, we may not see much of a race, as he's only use to driving 21, 36, or 42 mph.

Side Bar: I missed the last two days as I had to make a whirlwind trip to Key West to pull out our camper and the little Shamrock in anticipation of Hurricane Ike. It looks like it might slide south of The Keys hopefully and everyone needs to pray that it doesn't build speed and head towards Louisana and the BoatDr like they say it might. Sorry for the thread jack.

For those of you lacking technical experience of this level, the WITTOD is "Whatever It Takes To Outrun Dave". Me and Jerry are finishing the install tonight. I traded in my old WITTOB unit which we used last year at GL.

As for the Python, there's still hope that Eddie Johnson can bring his BFN snake.

Let's hope the WITTOD unit is not WITTODED (sound it out guys since some here cannot spell LOL)

Seriously, someone needs to take a video of this race and post it here.

I think we should have a rule that only canine drivers can participate. Now that would make it interesting.

BTW, those are awesome looking chocolate labs in that "SHE Tique".

Billy, that was a response to The Godfather for pulling out of the race. Not you! You're sure not someone who's "all talk".

If you were going to be there, I'd be there for sure. There's a small chance I may be able to make it. If so, we'll show up and crash the party.

I've got to call you later about that boat I told you about. About the only thing salvagable is the part you want.
