Always wondered... I have searched and cannot find a reason Correct Craft placed split windshields on 1987 & 88 Ski Nautiques. Below is what ChatGPT has to say:

The 1987 Ski Nautique boats were designed with a split windshield for a few reasons:

Aesthetics: The split windshield design gives the boat a sporty and sleek look, which was popular in the 1980s.
Functionality: The split windshield design allows for better visibility while driving the boat, especially during turns and maneuvers. The split design also reduces wind resistance, which can improve fuel efficiency and overall performance.
Safety: In the event of a collision or impact with an object, a split windshield can help prevent the windshield from shattering into sharp pieces and potentially injuring passengers.

Overall, the split windshield design was a popular and practical choice for the 1987 Ski Nautique boats.

Curious what the real experts and Correct Craft historians have to say! Smile

One big piece of glass is expensive

I’ve wondered this as well, just figured it was a cost thing. Two flat pieces of glass are probably a lot cheaper than one long curved one

The 2 piece split windshield models have always had a better look from my view. No hard feelings if you have one big slab or, like me, 3.
