Have an 89 with a blank hull and want to put decals back on. Does anyone have a picture of the original "Ski Nautique" Decal with an easy to see hull shot. Please post.

Search thru the "Diaries" section. Search for your year and model. No decals available that I'm aware of. They were painted on.
Welcome to CCF and sure you will find wealth of knowledge here.   Duane

Zach,
The 2001 hull side graphics were decals but to my knowledge are hard to come by. Try nautiqueparts.com (one of our partners) as they at one time did have some. I do remember that these decals are not easy to reproduce because they are basically clear decals with white that varies to create the shadow effect. Most sign shops don't have the ability to make them plus you need a computer file.

Duane,
The original decal shadowing is made up with white dots or squares of varying frequency on the clear vinyl. The closer the white is together the darker the shadow. I suppose some air brush work would do it??

Nautiqueparts has most of them. When I did mine I had to get some from N3 as well. Look at my diary pics. 89 was slightly different with the small "2001" after the Ski Nautique scipt and the Correct Craft with world logo on each rear side. Also, transom says "Competition Ski Nautique".    It seems like I had trouble finding that one because it was unique to 89. Pin stripes are a PITA to get straight! Good luck!

I have been talking to N3 myself and I am about to order through them just trying to confirm we have the right decals. Our 89 has the grey hull. Had heard the decal may have been grey with a white drop shadow. Any idea?

There were more color options in 89/90

The checkers are one color and the shadow is another. The vinyl is clear.

Did the color of hull determine the color the checker on the decal?

I think a 96 or 97 ski was a closest replacement I don't think the competition ski nautique transom ones are around anymore. you might be able to piece together a barefoot or sport one.....I have seen the chrome nautique on the transom doesn't look too bad at last resort.

I wouldn't recommend trying to install the small 2001 , Been there done that NEVER AGAIN.

I have a photo of the side graphics somewher on this site, but the search function isn't as friendly as it used to be.

I'll try searching with google & will link it if I can find it.

Found it, but it isn't the whole side.

n3 has them and can reproduce, I have a white hull with a red gel stripe and my originals were the white checkered pattern with the gray dropshadow. Price is 260 for two side graphics and rear stern. This does not include the correct craft logo, or the stern and bow stripes.

N3 Boatworks will get you hooked up. I completely restored my gel-coat last year and they supplied my decals.

heres some eye candy for you lol!
Also, the boat in the above photo is not an 89. Be sure to get decals for an 89 2001 SN, the 89's are a "special" year of sorts and it was important for me to maintain that originality.
Cheers!

Nautiqueparts.com has them. David contacted the oem supplier and has new stock. SKU: S9357-OEM   It is white ink screen printed on the back of clear tape. The hull color shows inside the checkered pattern.

This sounds like a description of the 88 decals and not the 88-90 version (which are multi colored).

I always thought 88-89 had the same decals

Nope. 88 is unique (all white). 89-90 was similar (faded check) but not exact. They were offered in a variety of colors, each being 2-tone (primary/shadow).

I looked in the diaries, a lot of the 89's look all white.

They aren’t, unless someone put ‘88 decals on them.

White with a gray shadow is fairly common, though.

And the accent color on the side of the hull bumps up taller towards the transom the 89"s do not. Also the "2001" decal is small on the 89's compared to others.
Here is what my boat looked like with the factory decals on it before I restored it just for reference

The 2001 looks a little too far from the nautique decal, the ones that were on it we don't look like 89 decals to begin with....get yourself some black rope from home depot about 52-55' and put it in the rub rail it will look alot better ;)
