Hey All
If any CCF'ers are around the Winter Haven/ Central Fl area this weekend, feel free to get hold of me on this thread or through a PM if you want to drink a few beers and ski. Adam, Jbear, Eddie and Hollywood will be there, and I was hoping Bobbi and his son would be around as well.

Update: We finally got the Hooters wing sauce sorted out. Everyone is also up to speed on the concept of "Showrooming" and "Fursuiting". We got this hot little number from the local college to hang out with us for the weekend.

Well, it started off as a foggy day as the dudes gathered at the dock for a testosterone fueled barefoot/jumpfest:
http://s266.photobucket.com/user/turninggrey/media/Nautique/IMG_0999.jpg.html" rel="nofollow">

However, it degraded into a total surrender to femininity as the swivel chicks showed up and schooled the boys on the finer points of grace and style:

Thankfully, there was a lot of good stuff in between.

ok guys, here comes video overload. Two nights and two days of wrecking crew madness, and here is the proof. Fair warning, some of this footage sucks, and I don't care, because Seascamper threw the invite out, so if you didn't come, its your own fault.

Also, a big thanks as usual to Tom Carlin for his top notch hospitality. We invaded his lake, house, dock, boat, overpowered Saturn...the guy is a class act and if you haven't met him or his family you're missing out.

In any case. We started out with JBear throwing a flier.

Then, if you want to know what a pretty back deep looks like, watch carefully.

John and Hollywood showing what a well orchestrated double flier looks like. (I will demonstrate the wrong way further down.)

Once we were away from the dock they had to find a way to get back up and this was not as pretty...notice John's double bounce technique.

The Polk County Fire Department heard we were in town so they sent a rescue vehicle in advance.

Then it was time to throw people over the jump. Tom had just gotten a new wakeboard that did not agree with the jump. Listen for the squeak. And just drink in the perfect 4 point stance...hand on the rope, feet on the board, hand on the water, face on the wake. Flawless.

Squeak again, with commentary.

Then he got better and things got boring.

I needed help to realize that I should follow the boat...I've only been skiing for 25 years.

Then my first attempt ever going over a jump. Not terrible, stay tuned, that's coming.

Second attempt was better.

HW looking smooth as ever sliding tricks off the dock.

And sometimes you ski with someone who just pisses you off constantly.

If ever there was a photo finish.

Not sure what happened here, but the commentary is great.

Neither the driver nor the skier knew this was supposed to be a hot pickup, and guess what, it didn't work.

I don't know what this was supposed to be a video of, but Eddie's laugh kills me.

Still squeaking.

Now, this needs some explanation. Last year, Tom let Kevin and I drive the Cowboy Conversion Suburban, which was one of the finest examples of American Automobile Engineering to ever exist. This year we are rolling in the overpowered Saturn, which JBear took to a charity dinner. Kevin decided to capture his exit.

Tom's jumpers were too stiff so I decided to slick them up with some italian dressing.   The struggle is real.

I have to give Thomas a hard time because in the past two years he has gone from never skiing before to being head and shoulders better than me. But this wasn't great.

Or this. You know what is helpful for your driver? When they know exactly how much rope you have left. In order to avoid this convenience, just throw the whole coil into the water as soon as the boat takes off.

Of course once he got on his feet he was fine.

No idea.

Ok. Wait. So some people know the right way to do things, and some do not. I do not.

Then we raised the jump 8 inches from the day before and it became impossible for me.

When we teach new skiers we tell them to keep their arms straight. Perfectly demonstrated here.

This is what we call the starfish.

Then he started showing off. We went from good

To bad

To good

To bad

To bad again

Then back to good

And now the fun started. Let me tell you what I'm not good at- barefoot fliers. This gets messy at the end.

Then they picked me up and I couldn't even.

Here's one for all the haters. Inboard wake cross- completed.

And this, the last video on my camera, pretty much sums up the wrecking crew perfectly. Fishermen? Fck em. Do I need help in the boat? You're damn right I do.

I hope you guys in winter enjoy these, if you don't, well, I'm on a plane back to summertime tomorrow.

That wake cross counts

Looking very solid Adam. It must help hanging with all the good footers in the wrecking crew.

Looks a bit cool though even in Florida..... we are in the middle of a heatwave downunder 102F for the next 3 days

Two things- it was downright freezing on Sunday and worse on Monday, I didn't even get in the water that day. I landed yesterday and it was 103...crazy.

Also, none of that sandwich was wasted, but the residual italian dressing on that jumper will make the water bead off the top of it for several weeks.

It's kinda a dream of mine to ski on an overnight. Hopefully one of these times will align with a lake day.
