to make a long story short as possible, Im restoring my dearly beloved 77 nauti. My engine is shot, and I almost bought a new one today but bought a boat that needs stringers replaced instead, the engine and tranny are original with 800 hours I opted to buy this boat and part it out or sell it without motor. its a 1980 ski nautique decent interior missing front seat hour meter and engine. I would like to sell the boat for somewhere around 3000 with trailer someone with the know how could make a great boat, The gelcoat looks good paint is faded trailer is in fair condition. please email me for more info I will post pics next week, by the way I bought the boat from a 70 year old man and his wife and it hasnt hardly been used also the boat was seen at southwest correct craft every winter for the past 13 years atleast so its in pretty decent shape for a fixer upper .

Sounds good... It's a little far to drive...If you can determine shipping costs to Smithfield Virginia (zipcode 23430) I'll send a check promptly. Regular ground shipping would be fine. I am unable to get thru to your cell number. I'll keep trying. Mine is (757) 620-7764 if you get an opportunity.

oops I ment 300 plus shipping for whole pylon and all or 150 for loop and finger, my price is high because Ive searched for one before and they cant be found.

is a lift ring the eyehooks on the bow and stern of the boat used to lift the boat from the water.

True...a bit hard to find!
Loop and finger...I will sign up for that! The finger is broken on mine...I need to know that it will fit a 72 SN (I think it should)
Can you tell me the diameter if it's out..or if still attached to the pylon...cicumference will do...I can measure mine . Just need to check size...if it fits I will buy it!
Thanks

I just ran a tape around the base of the loop and eye sect. looks like about 3 1/8". Diameter appears to be 1 inch. I think the 80 SN may have had a larger pylon than mine...but the loop sect may be the same!
If it will fit...you got it sold!Let me know when you find out.

Thanks!

Coreytread,
Just so you know and everyone on this site, that 81 you bought was actually my family's. You bought it from my mother-in-law and father-in-law. We have used it for 18 years and was on the water every week end from May to Sept. Yes the stringers do have some rotten places in them but I sure wish you would restore this to orginal condition. We decided to sell because we needed a bigger boat and didn't want to spend the money to restore or have the time to. There are pictures of the boat in my signature line. The motor needs a new exhaust manifold, it has a new starter and blower.

79Monk, it does not have the vent frames/windows you are asking about. this is a 81 and the vents are on the sides of the windshield.

The gel coat is in pretty good shape, there is some chips on the rear/stern left side of the boat from hitting the dock. The lift rings look well used, remember this boat has been hung from them for 18 years and many tubes/towables have been attached to the stearn one.

I can help coreytread out with any questions regarding this 81. It has been part of my life for 18years

you are going to need more than a couple of inches of rain....more like a couple of feet. The boat is hanging over dry sand currently. Scott

WOW, Im very surprised the boat was already on the site, Im glad your willing to help. I do intend on selling the hull to someone looking to restore and have had some offers. I would love to have two nautiques but the bill on my 77 is well over 10 large so Im tight on funds. If I dont sell the hull I will keep it and restore it after I graduate from college. Im hoping a couple of feet is nto neccesary, with a couple of inches I can lay it in the sand like its been beached if the lift goes low enough. I really do appreciate you offering the help. I will gladly cut the boat loose without the parts I have sold and minus the engine for 1500$ including the trailer.

Yes we loved that boat, my kids learned to ski, kneeboard, wakeboard etc...from it- now we want a 210. I even have pulled 4 salom skiers with flags for 4th of july on Hide-a-way lake. I learned to barefoot from it...and run 22 off @36...oh heck I just reminiscing. it was a great boat.

s8370-I wouldn't say the lift rings are in excellent shape,(Fair) they are 25 years old and the boat has been hung from them for at least 18 of them. Need to be re-chromed and there are a few grooves in them from wear.

Coreytread I'm not trying to kill any of your sales just want to be honest with people on the condition of everything.

Scott I will sell the boat to you if you like for a fair price seeing how much you love it. All the parts being sold are not from your boat. when I finish mine it will not have lift rings. My lift rings have very rarely been used and are in great condition.

Like I said before Im spending well over 10k on my 77, I have looked at buying new boats and just dont like them. there are some things about a new boat design I do like. I basically am taking the best of both worlds and making something that is best for my use. The engine I had in my 77 was built to pull very hard ( we parasail ) so my old motor will not work well for tooling around. I needed the orginal motor. I dont lift my boat from the rings and will not be using them.

Corey,
Sorry for any confusion and thanks for the offer but like I said we want a 210 now. I wish you luck with everything rebuilding the 77, I know the engine from the 81 will do great. I will be at the lake house this Sunday and I'll check to see if the boat can be taken out. I know the lift will let it down all way to the sand.
Post pictures of the 77 once you have finished.
Cheers, Scott

Cool, I hope I can get it out, but if not Im waiting for interior anyway. DO you know by chance if you have brass cluches in the tranny or if you guys ever did work on it. My tranny is only about 8 years old and probably will use it but I was curiouse so I know the condition in case I sell the tranny from your boat. Dont worry I will try and find a good home for the boat after I sell a few pieces.

I hope you can get it out this coming week. My Father-in-law said the water has come up. You might need to get 3 or 4 guys help you pick it up and slid off the sand to get it floating in the lake.

Yes I saw the 94 very clean engine, very hard running boat from what shannon says. should only have about 6 weeks left if my interior comes in quickly. Did you guys have mufflers on the 81 it doesnt seem as loud as mine, but I was very pleased with the way it ran fired up pretty easily idles a little low but top end we ran 42 mph and had room to go farther.

Posted By: SMay81SN
Date Posted: March-16-2006 at 7:22pm
Yes that 81 has a strong motor. Like I have said before I could take anybody on that lake with the 81. I believe it has mufflers but they are the original ones. I replaced the rubber exhaust hoses last year and the exhaust flaps on the back a couple of times. Yes the idle might be a little low, I usually played with it during the summer. I think it was around 600-800rpms. When the boat was newer I know I could push 45-46. Easily foot behind her too. It was kinda strange to see the pictures of her you posted and my handy duck tape work on the back seat...

Anyway have fun, maybe see you some this summer.

Heath,
if you click on Corey's parts boat link in his post, there is a good picture of the speedos off the 81. I don't know though if he is selling those or the ones off his 77.

Corey,
you need to fix your link in your signature...it could look like this;
http://www.correctcraftfan.com/diaries/details.asp?ID=751&sort=&pagenum=6&yrstart=1976&yrend=1980 - My 77SN

Use the Forum codes guide to show what you need to put in front of the http: and at the end.

Corey,

I'll be out of town for the next two weeks and will not have access to email or, sadly, CorrectCraftFan.com. Please call my cell ((757)620-7764) when you have the totals for the motor box and platform brackets (and shipping) and I will get the check in the mail ASAP! Looking forward to hearing from you. FYI, my zipcode is 23430.

I would try to ship through www.fastenal.com

they just started a 3rd party shipping concept probably cheaper than anyone else, only the parts would go to the city of choice for pick up only by the reciever. Check it out.

Corey,
Actually we got the boat in 87 when my mother in law bought that lake house. The interior was a little rough, due to no cover being on the boat since it was new. It was the original dark blue and needed some repair. We elected to redo it, a shop in Mesquite TX did it for us. Turned out pretty nice, Cowboy colors kinda. The back seat gets a lot of wear from people stepping in and out of the boat. With 6 kids and 6 adults all the time using it, thats why the duck tape came out. We shouldn't have that big of problem with the 94 we got, it has the removeble seat in the middle. I'm still looking at getting a 210 myself, but have to wait for some more $$$ right now.
Can't wait to see what you do with the 77 though!

stang 72 its pretty straight forward use the browse button to the right of the screen find your pics select them and hit upload to do more than one at a time there is a drop menu at the top where you can change the number of pics. to do a new album look at the bottom of the screen and it says create new album type name in the feild hit create and there you go, if this does not help you might just not be waiting long enough if your pics are larger than 513kb the website will resize them the upload is very so to. I have a stand alone two way satelite system that is extremely fast but it still takes me some time. sorry if i didnt help.

Scott hope you get that 210.

To everyone else I will be gone until sunday, Im going to mud nationals for the week end, muddin and breaking stuff on my truck and buddies fourwheelers haha is boating offseason for me.

click on the forum codes link at the bottom of the Post Repy box. It shows you the text format you have to put in front of the link and and the end. Basic HTML. Look at the "my link" line. this is where you can call it what ever you want..ie parts boat.
Hope this helps,
