I replaced my Fuel Filter and I am going to run this boat out of the water.

I just wanted to clarify what I was doing before I decided to destroy my PCM 351.

It is simply, undo the intake hose coming from my "pool filter" looking thing, stick that into a 5 gallon bucket, stick my hose coming from my house into the same 5 gallon bucket. Fire the motor up?

Yes that is pretty much it, it should be pretty obvious if you are drawing water as most garden hoses will just be able to keep up with the draw at idle.
