Well, I've done my 3rd set of decals. The second set to go to California. Here are some before and after pics. He hasn't joined here, but told me he has been looking around. He didn't want competition ski boat on the back.

Someone told me that the 1988 side decals are the most complicated that Correct Craft produced. We have friends with a 1988 that had new stickers made. I will ask and find out!

I can do solid lettering. I think the 88 has the small squares cut into the lettering.

Sort of...I think the white squares are printed on clear vinyl. The only graphics place I've been to didn't want to print vinyl; he wanted to layer colors on with a separate piece for each color.

Ya it dose have alot of little white rectangles. And seems to fade in size and brightness from top to bottom making it even more difficult I would guess.

By shadow...do you mean this style?

I'm trying to get a whole set for my boat, sides, 2001's, and the transom as well. It's the light grayish letters with the dark red/maroon accent line(shadow). You may be able to tell from my diary picture. Thanks!

Do you know the font name used on the side and back of the 1982 CC Nautique ?

I have a plotter cutter and would like to make my own replacement decals.

Thanks much

Dennis, do you know that the letters are not stickers on your boat? You are looking at the gel-coat hull with painted stripes. The same goes with the transom. From 82-84 no stickers in the Ski Nautique or the correct craft competition ski boat.

Hope that this helps!

Yes I know the 1982 is all paint, No colored Gelcoat & No stickers

I thought I could remove all the paint and use the vinyl stickers
to paint around, then remove the stickers exposing the gelcoat.

This may be easier than taping the letters ???

Hey Tim I am wondering if you could make me some mask.
I need them to be about 12" long, Ski Nautique. I would prefer the 82 style but if thats not something you have, similar is good. I need pairs, R and L. I want to paint some "things" to see what they look like.
Please let me know,
Thanks

You mentioned some "things", you're not going to do your boat? If you're painting your boat, do you need ski nautique leaning in different directions? The reason I ask is, I've seen some boats with lettering angled to the back on both sides, and I've seen some with the same angle direction on both sides, which makes the boat have lettering leaning toward the front on one side and to the back on the other.

Only 85-90 both slant to the back, the rest both sides slant to the right, like regular italics.

Since you asked, a mailbox, and some valvecovers. You only see 1 side of a MB at a time, I get that. But I was wondering if it was possible to reslant or reshadow for some valvecovers, so they make the proper V.

Ross - To my knowledge, no one has attempted to reproduce the '89 decals because they are so difficult to manufacture.    The day might come when we need to team up & pay the tooling charge to have them made.    I am sure it can be done if we throw enough money at it.    I wonder if we would need to get a release from CC to make them??

I would love a set of original style side decals. The clear vinyl with the checker type printing are to expensive to produce on a individual basis.

So put me down for a group buy if it becomes available.

Woody is half way there for 89 decals. The only differences from 88 is the stern's "Nautique" in the small letters, and the small 2001. All the checkered artwork is already done!

Are your shadow graphics like the pic on http://www.correctcraftfan.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=15660&PID=183025&title=ski-nautique-2001-decal-restoratin#183025 - page 1 ? Can you do the multi-color (shadow being a separate color from the main letter)?

If so, can you shoot me a quote for a full set for my '85, sides and transom. As I said in the post on page 1, it's the Grayish letters with the dark red shadow.

If you want to email me directly.... c_a_fisher@comcast.net

Hi Tim,
Long story short is I have an '88 SN that needs new decals. I'm not too keen on spending $500 that the dealers want for an authentic set, so the 1987 design will do fine for me. Can you make me a set in white?

One catch is that I believe the '88 letters were bigger than the '87 and despite wet sanding a lot, you can still see where the old letter were. If I give you the heighth of the old letters, can you blow up the new ones to get close to matching the size of the originals?

You can email me at bboland2@gmail.com if you like. Thanks!

Tim,
My measurements were Ski Nautique at about 7" tall and 2001 about 8 1/2-ish tall. Those are from the top of the letter to the bottom of the drop shadow. So if you can just run with approximately those dimensions I think it'll be fine. Let me know what other info you need. I need both sides and "Correct Craft Competition Ski Boat" for the transom. Thanks!

Have you or anyone else figured out how to reproduce the 88 graphics? There are tons of threads that mention this specific year's graphics, but none that I saw that were exact enough for me. Can you get them? If so, how much for both sides and the stern?

Tim,
Congratulations on getting it worked out with CC. I'm curious, did they have a issue with yourself before July? How long is the licence/contract good for? Is it exclusive or can others do the same?

What haters? Here or other places as well? Maybe some help is needed?

I can do decals, shock tubes and trailer guide pads. Sorry, no shirts yet.

Swatkinz, I haven't made a complete checkered set yet. I have Ski Nautique for one side perfected. I'm waiting of some pics from Moorfoot. A friend of mine just got a set from White Lake, they had two sets left, I know he got one of them. They had a deal on them.

Tim,
I can provide photos as well if needed. Mine look decent to be 20+ years old, but certainly could stand to be replaced. Once perfected, I wonder what I should expect to pay for both sides and the transom graphics?

I addtion to Tim as an option, recognize Woody at Southeast Marine has the '88 checkered Ski Nautique decals in stock. Also Brad at N3 has the '89-91 era checkered shadow Ski Nautique decals in stock as well.

Most common probably 14" tires @ dual axle and 15" tires @ single axle.
My trailer (dual axle) has ST205/75R14 tires.

Currently have a plain cover on mine which was purchased at Bass Pro IIRC.

I think there would be people interested who have 13", 14" and 15" tires on their trailers. I think the most common sizes of each would be:

175/80/13 = 24" diameter
205/75/14 = 26" diameter
225/75/15 = 28" diameter

Hi Tim,

I don't know if you can help me but I would appreicate any advice. I am restoring my '89 Nautique. I am very cautious about just taking it apart and would really like to tidy up the upholstery and the decals.

Should I just repaint and replace? And if so can the interior be ordered already stitched for fitment? I am trying to keep it as original as possible.

Thanks.

Try Nautiqueskins.com (Christine's Interiors) for you interior needs. They have licensed logos for upholstry and you can order exact fit interiors. They will send you color samples of upholstry and carpet for exact match.

Do more research before just painting. I have seen a lot of boats painted with less than desired results over time. Check into gelcoating.

I don't have the checkered style lettering finished/perfected yet in cut vinyl. The original ones were printed in white on a clear tape. If you're going to replace the decals, I would pull them off and compound the grey gel coat stripe before I would paint over it.

Ben, welcome to the site! You have found the right place to bring your boat back to life! As mentioned above you can get a complete new interior from http://www.nautiqueskins.com/ - christines . They have been said to have the best fit and finish. Shoot them an email and I'm sure they will get you everything you need.

You can bring that gel back to life pretty easily. There is a lot of information on wetsanding and buffing on the site. Do some searching and see some of the results other have had with this process.

Whats the condition of the rest of the boat look like? Floor,Stringers, Compression, Transmission?

PS- By grey I think he means Blue
