Our 1976 CC Mustang has a rub strip all around the boat… but are we missing the ROPE… i see this on SN and others of the same vintage. Was this an option or was this the factory’s differences in models ?

How about a good close up picture of the rub rail
It's kinda hard to tell from your picture if you have black rubber with a groove for the rope (and no rope) or if you have some black vinyl type aftermarket rub rail.
In any case it's not original to a 76 CC of any model. All of the 76's had an aluminum rub rail with about a million screwheads showing.  The rubber and rope was a couple years or so later and CC had a kit you could buy to replace the earlier aluminum. |

I will take a better photo. No “ rope” slot… just a solid rubber rub rail the entire boat. Just was not sure if we could aftermarket add the rope .. no screws visible.
