I've read about this before - people have snaps installed in their rub rails to attach their cover to. Does anyone have a pic of this up close?

I have an angola drawstring cover and I find the drawstring thing to be pretty much useless. It doesn't fit well, huge pain to put on solo, and doesn't fit over the trailer bow stops.

I have a local guy who's going to give me an estimate to have it modified - trimmed down a bit and then made into a snap cover instead of drawstring. But he wants to see the snaps in the rubrail, sounds like that's not his normal.

I already have snaps in the gelcoat for the bow seat cover, so could use those but would rather not add more.

That's a very tough boat for a draw string cover.  Snaps usually go below the rub rail. Some boats are meant to have snaps.

You're telling me... very disappointed with it. Hoping the snaps will rectify.

Just looking for some pics of the snaps in the rub rail if anyone has them.

I swear some people just struggle with covers, someone may need to make a YouTube vid to cover the basics?

The bowstop can be a challenge but it can usually be worked around in a few different ways. Angola can be quirky on a few things when it comes to ordering covers and some of their detail work… but they really shine on their basic drawstring mooring covers in terms of fit and ease of install, IMO.

It sounds like you’re primarily covering while on the trailer?

Give me a call - I have a local guy (Davidson) that has done fantastic work for me without using snaps - you may want to make that 30-minute drive and talk with him
