Hey guys, the owner of this beast works with my brother. I do not believe he's on here, OR he simply lurks. I'm guessing the former. My bro will have some deets this week when they meet up at work. In the mean time, what have we got here?

I'm told the engine work will be starting shortly.

It's had to say what the boat is but more pictures would help. One thing for sure is the engine is a FWF (flywheel forward) Chris Craft 283.

This is Michael’s 1961 Chris Craft “ski boat”. I believe the model is called ski boat. Think he is on here. He was at the Badin mini a few years ago. Also has an 85 2001. The Chris Craft is looking awesome!!

It very well could be the Ski model. Chris made the 17 footer up until  1968. From the lookes of the deck with the blond king plank, that's what it is. In 63 they went with vinyl decks.

With this Chris Craft 283 engine, hopefully he has a good Chris Craft manual since there are a fair amount of differences from a "normal" 283 Chevy.

A couple of examples would be the distributor location and the, let's call it the Chris Craft way of renumbering the cylinders and stating the firing order Wink

There's plenty of info, mostly on Chris Craft websites

That looks like a boat that someone on CCF was restoring a long time ago and had a thread.  Can't remember who it was...

How about a thread by 75 stang from 2012 about his 68 Chris Craft with a 283.

He finished it rather nicely Wink

Here a link

He hasn't been logged on since he finished the boat in 2012
