Last weekend I was at the cabin..
And noticed my speedometer was getting water in it
Do I need a new speedo or is there some reconditioning I can do?
Thanks

Thanks mike,,
What did you end up doing? Did you replace it?
Or find a leek? It's strange because when I slow down the boat from around 35 or so
It just poors out of the back of the speedo ...
All over my leg

There's a bellows inside that converts linear motion to rotary for the needle. The bellows are known to split due to fatigue. Silver soldering is the fix.

When the bellows split, the speedo will dump water all over your dash and legs.

We actually haven't done a dang thing yet. Good thing we have two!

Eventually I'll pull the speedo out and try the soldering fix.
