A group buy will usually require someone to do a bunch of legwork to orchestrate the whole thing. Get a vendor signed up to do it, and work out the terms. Get the bunch of visibility to it, and find willing participants. Then coordinate the way the orders are placed.
If youre interested in doing all the legwork, go for it!
