I have an 87b Martinque. It sits on the original CC trailer. The tires had the tendancy to wear on the sides both inside and outside on both sides of the trailer. I took it to a trailer builder and was informed that I had a 3500 lb axle. He asked how much the boat weighed. Book says 3600 or so. Plus the trailer weight. When towing the axle could be seen flexing under the load. I went from St Louis to Tulsa last year and had four tire failures. Time to fix the problem.
I put a six bolt 5500 lb axle under it. Now it rides steady and pulls straight.
It appears that the larger CC boats were put on the same trailers as the smaller and lighter SN's were.
I guess that the thinking was it would get the boat from the dealer to the lake and not see much use. ? cost about 600 tires D rated rims and all.
Any comments?
