I have an 82SN that I need to replace the strainer on. Unfortunately the boat is about 120 miles from here and I want to order one without making the trip! Can anyone tell me what diameter the hose is that runs from the pick up to the strainer and from the strainer to the water pump.

Thanks!
Brian

DJ77skier,

Thanks...I am a big fan of Skidim and buy from the often.

Unfortunately they do not have the strainer I am looking for. I am looking for a Vetus strainer since that is what is in the boat and the hose connections are from the botton of the strainer (I have not seen this set up on other brands and I am trying to avoid replacing all of the hose).

Still looking for hose diameter, let me know if you can help!
Brian

I had one of those and they are like hen's teeth. Nobody has one. I replaced it with a Sherwood strainer and 90 degree hose barbs so they point down and used the same hoses. My 83 uses 1" hoses, in and out.

Brian, in case you do end up replacing with a Sherwood strainer, here is some additional info. I have an 84 SN with a Commander marine 351. Everything was a 1" hose fitting eexcept the transmission oil cooler, which was 1 1/4 ". The original raw water pump for the Commander engine was replaced by the original owner with a Sherwood pump with 1" fittings, so I do not know the fitting size of the original Jabsco pump. Hope that helps!
