I am relocating my transom shower pump to the port side of the engine bay. I removed one screw and need to add a second for the pump bracket- it looks to be stainless and i have a nearly identical 3/8" lag screw- is there any concerns simply adding an additional lag screw to hold the bracket? any need to add sealant or anything to prevent corrosion?

How about a picture of where this is going?

What are you screwing into?

so this isn't my boat, but i designed and 3d printed a bracket to hold the pump and mount it in the location shown in this photo- because its plastic (petg) i added a second lag screw to hold it to the metal edge- this is what i will be drilling into.

I'd use your favorite sealant on the threads of the lag screw to keep water out of the hole.

Something like 3M 4200 or Loctite PL marine or somebody's equivalent. RTV would  work just fine also to keep any water out.Wink

You can find the Loctite PL marine at Home Depot

Pretty clean 351. Is the shower for skiers or the Ford?
