Have already purchased a NOS Water Witch and plan to install it using your recommendations. Thank you.

I would clean up the area good and fill the hole and level the area with PL400 or equivalant. Then drill new pilot hole (shallow) for the screw.
Or replace your pump with a new one that has the automatic float already in it. ????

I want to mount a new automatic bilge pump switch in the bilge of my boat..
One of the screws whose purpose is to secure the mounting plate in the bilge works. The other one doesn't and its insert or nut has vanished. What are some ways to install a new nut or insert in the bilge? And what material is recommended as a sealant for the underside of the mounting plate? Should all of the old material be scraped off? Thanks ![]() |
