I recently bought a 87 Ski Nautique, The carpet really smells like mildew so thinking thinking I might rip this up and replace. after lifting the service board up behind the engine I noticed the marine grade plywood  was a little waterlogged, or has been. It was super heavy... Stringers seem fine, Thinking as my winter project I might rip out the floor. Whats peoples thoughts on replacing the Marine-grade plywood with AZEK PVC BOARD instead..and then putting a new carpet over that. I figure then I wouldn't need to buy and deal with as much fiberglass.I would seal with bonding agent then fiberglass over the seams. I assume the PVC board would be much lighter than the Marine-grade plywood as well. Thoughts?
