Hey Gang....Yep!!!!!! It's that time of year again to think about a River Ruckus! Big smile Was gonna wait until after inauguration day to start this thread but Censored it! I've had it up to my 3 feet over my head with all this Corona Crap and really miss this event along with my CCFan Ski Buds so I'm announcing it NOW! Thoughts on a March weekend all depending if DeSantis or the Prez shuts the country down. It's time to return to normal. Who's in?? Same routine as normal and same location. Lets make it happen since we didn't do it in 2020.

New job, possibly weekends... no earned vacation yet... makes sense to me.

We all don’t have 20+ years of service and 4 weeks vacation

I want to do it.

If I can sneak out of NC without Governor Cooper seeing me leave past check point checky.  I may have to leave the state in the cover of darkness with my truck lights off while driving on the back roads at a high rate of speed, just like the moonshiners did back in the day. While pulling a boat.

I am going to do my damnedest to get down there.  I know the campground vacancies kind of determine the date, but hardest weekend in March for me to get free is the 20-21st.

Mike, I think we're still a Go on this. I haven't reached out to Parramores  to see what is going on. With no Sunnyland Festival going on we can do any weekend in March that all can attend after were back on DST. I'll try to call them today and look to see how many cabins are available on several weekends. I would imagine they'll give us the usual CCFan discount.

Everybody stays at Parramores Fish Camp and Campground in Astor. There’s also St Johns River Campground on SR-40 across street from river and the same owner has 2 other campgrounds in Astor on River.

Okay so I haven't talked with the gals from Parramores but looking at the calendar here's what we got.....
March 14 is when DST begins..
March 18 - 8 Cabins available
March 25 - 8 Cabins
April 1 (Easter weekend) 11 - Cabins
April 8 - 11 Cabins

What weekend works best for everyone? Any weekend before DST isn't gonna work as there is no availabilty at all... There is no Sunnyland boat festival this year so we aren't handcuffed by that date. An April date would allow more attendees and the weather & water temps would be warmer. Might also mean that some of of snowbound Fans might be able to attend and drag a boat on clear roads. My vote is April 8th but it's what y'all wanna do as this is about "The Collective"!

Based on the school's Spring Break schedule, I would prefer the March 18th weekend so we wouldn't have to pull the kids out of school, and we also have an interested teacher who wouldn't be able to do the April date. Just my preference but will try and make anything work to attend this year!!

Okay Gang the SJRR 2021 date is SET!!!!!!! Mark your calendar for April 8- 11 and make plans for a RUCKUS! I know it's later than normal but the deciding factor was cabin availability. I have already booked my cabin so at the time of this post there are 10 left.  Anything earlier and that # was reduced to 6.  With the amount of attendees who said they wanted to come, they might have to find accommodations elsewhere or tent/rv camp which kinda defeats the whole purpose anyway. Parramores  working with us again and will give CCFans a 10% discount on your rate but YOU HAVE TO CALL, when you book and identify yourself as a CCFan in order to get it. Doing so Online won't work. Due to Covid restrictions the Rec Hall (as of now) won't be available for Sat night cookout BUT the pavillion will be available or some other area of the campground for the traditional River Ruckus Cookout on Saturday.  As Mike mentioned the Sunnyland Show is cancelled but we'll still do the Ocklawaha River Run on Friday as it's a Ruckus favorite and do lunch at one of the many establishments lakeside in Mt. Dora. Should be fun as always and the weather will be a bit warmer so plan on dragging your Correct Craft down to Astor for some Social Distancing 32'ft off or 100'ft off if your Footing on the beautiful St. Johns River.

See Y'all Soon!!

We all KNOW the rules around here so the above statement ISN'T exactly True.... From the archives of the 2011 River Ruckus here is Photo evidence of Foot attempting to Foot. Pulling a page from Brother Deens Book of Barefootin' one must ride on your backside for 1/2 mile before placing feet in the water. This was behind JoeinNY's SN.
