    Posted: January-16-2015 at 1:08am
I recently installed a new D.U.I. (HEI) distributor on my 1994 PCM engine. When I took the old Pro-Tech "trigger" off, I did not notice any gasket between the trigger and the block. I didn't think much about this and when I put the new D.U.I. unit on, I did not use a gasket.

I was chatting with a mechanic recently and he asked me if I used a gasket between the new distributor and the engine block.

That got me thinking...    (I know, thinking can be dangerous)

I did a quick search on NP and skidim. I didn't see any distributor gaskets. Is this something I should worry about?

They use an O ring,I'd bet there was one already on it when you got it. If you don't remember one,it might be best to check just to ease your mind.

Just to be sure...I pulled the new D.U.I. unit and checked. Y'all are right: O-Ring was there just like JPASS shows. I admit that now I feel a little sheepish.

Better safe than sorry though. If you'd have been out and it leaked,it might have ruined your day worring about why it's leaking
