Just make sure your boat is up to the task- Bill wore my 83 right out- had to idle back to the dock in shame, good thing it was at the end of the last day.

Hey now, I completely stripped my SS before I sold it, and still no keys!! I'm betting that they are on the bottom of the Glen.
Hope you can make it down again this year Bill. I'll pull you footin' this time.

If you read the SJRR 2012 toward the end and read fanofccfan's post you'll get the whole story about leaving keys on the shore.

For the meet, is there a registration to sign up with? fees? anything besides renting a place and towing the ole boat down? A friend of mine wants to come down as well, idk if he wants to bring his boat or not he has a 2011 230 sante.

Registration will be whenever you get there or Friday night before the catered dinner at the campground and usually includes a SJRR T-shirt and other goodies we organizers can come up with. Fee's will be determined after the boat dr and boat nurse get a price on the t-shirts and the cost of dinner on Fri and other things.

Book a place and thats all you need. IF there are empty slips available you can rent a slip for $5 a night( some are pretty tight)and leave the boat in the water. IF not there is VERY limited open air slips and if all else fails but it back on the trailer.

All you will need for Sat is to bring whatever you signed up to bring as we fans take care of dinner ourselves on Sat. " Bring what you Brought" and we'll all feast on food from across the country.

By all means Bring your buddy and his boat or if not then he has yours to ride around in or many others that will be there. Either way its ALL GOOD! The first timers always come back for more!

Absolutely worth the trip!

For anyone thinking of making this year's river run please don't let the talk of gators, snakes and large bugs scare you off! Just part of being in the south just like dealing with Quinner when you visit the north! We had a running "gator count" last year and came close to several when skiing/boarding but they seemed to be more scared of us!

That's my official endorsement for the event. Billy, Karen and all others on the planning side do a great job of making sure everyone has a great time. Only advice I would give is to make the trip last as long as possible and keep the car keys on the shore!

Going to try to make it to sjrr for 2013. It will be my first event, an wanna bring my sn but have a few things to finish up on the trailer and boat (just finished a stringer job). It will be a little bit of a haul from TN but be well worth it

I doubt all of them will be quite as nice as the weather we had there last year.. but in general its not bad down there then. In fact it hass warmer up there than in the Keys at that time of year each time I got lucky enough to do both in the same week so come on up!

This sounds like fun. I love that area, but isn't there still ice in the river in March?

Hah, your killin me Joe, bettin you too have had your fair share of scary rides, lol.

We need to get a parent with kids in school onto the planning and scheduling committee for the many reunions, these dates are killing me! CT the first week of school, SJRR the week before spring break, etc. etc. Crap, had to jump thru hoops to make CT happen, this one could be a stretch for me as well, we will see what happens.

And yes Don, picked up an Air Chair for $150 out in CT, Tim has been holding it (probably literally as well) for the past several months.

And if I do make it out, would also be in that line for some advanced foiling instruction from the master!!

Well in that case I can report that Chris "Quinner" has now physically acquired a sit down hydrofoil or at least that it was in the back of Chris Mar's truck heading his way last time I saw it. Not one that I would ever strap myself to without someone doing some serious work to it first.. but then again Chris has been known to ride a few things I wouldn't...   Be awefully nice if he could make the river run though...

I'm just trying to start something with Quinner, he's been threatening to get a foil for a while now, but can't seem to get off his wallet and pull the trigger. I'll probably bring a few for people to try and maybe even someone who can ride one.

I'll bring some jalepeno lime juice for the margaritas in the evening, and maybe some bacon infused vodka for some morning bloody mary's.   Anything that bites you will die from alcohol poisoning.    Got to make sure you have have a fair fight with all the local creatures.

Donald, as being a long time user of Parramores, I have never had a bug or snake problem.Maybe Karen keeps our cabin cleaner, But there again this is a "camp" ground in the middle of the nowhere .. There are few 4 star hotels close to Astor.
Maybe a little less or a little more "apple pie" will fix your minor bug problem...........Mom and the kids will keep you too busy for a bug report....Billy
