Hello all;

I bought a 1991 Ski-Nautique this summer
the ''problem'' is : when running the boat
at about 15 to 20 mph there is high pitch
noise...

Somebody mention that i am higgher in altitude
and some adjustment must be made .

Does it make any sense ???

Thanks !

Yvan

Altitude should make any differences noise wise. Yes, with carb jetting, but not noises. I suppose the noise could be a bad bearing in either the alternator or raw water pump. Is the noise present in neutral or in gear or both?

O.k, thanks David F...

The noise is not present in neutral.
At low and high speed, the noise is not
noticeable....

But between 15 and 20 mph, the high pitch noise
is very strong (anoying for both people in the
boat and outside !)

Ok, I think I know the problem. It is a high pressure issue within the PCM 1:1.23 reduction transmission. PCM has a kit to correct this problem. Basically, the kit adds a rubber hose that reduces the internal pressure and eliminates the whin.

No, very easy retrofit. Engine and transmission stays put. Kit is installed externally. Call your local CC dealer or Skidim.

Hello David;

I just got an answer from a Correct Craft
dealer (here in Canada) the dealer call a
PCM tech advisor and he said that such a
kit doesnt exist !!!!! ...and the only
thing that he can do (the dealer) is replace
the transmission for a newer model.......
Well.....i'm not very surprise....

i've e-mailed Skidim and still waiting for
a reply....

Hello again.....

Well, he is talking about the noise at
idle....and i can't ear it at idle...
...and some vibration.....i dont have...
He is talking about a 12'' quarter high
pressure hose with high pressure fittings...

Anyway, i'm ready to try this...I'm sure
i can find this here....or find someone who
can ''built'' it for me ???
