M3, you have to check out more about Palin than the Tina Fey impressions.
She's as experienced as Obama and more important than experience, she's got her head on straight. I'd rather someone that is inexperienced that I understand, than someone with experience that is hiding who they are, or in Biden's case is just a pompous loudmouth. I cannot understand why the people that hate Cheney so much like Biden. It's going to be a close race, like the last 2. These news outlets that are predicting Obama's victory already are going to be responsible for the aftermath if McCain wins. |

Morfoot and Riley- you're killing me here. How about Palin? You'd rather have her in office than Obama/Biden if the unthinkable happened to McCain? Talk about a "clown"! The choice next Tuesday should be fairly obvious for most Americans after the past 8 years, especially when coupled with a running mate as completely ridiculous as Palin.
Overall, I think we're lucky to be alive in what has become the most important election in American history. As pro-Obama as I am, I do think (and hope) we'll be better off no matter who wins. |

I agree with Riley. We are screwed either way but at least when the terrorists stike again and they will!! I'd rather have McCain in office than Obama. Yes, McCain is an OLD guy but he has far paid his dues 100 times more than the clown running against him. Barrack Obama scares the hell out of me and most everyone else whom I know....

I think we're screwed either way. Just screwed less with McCain.
I would like to see them come up with a plan for stabilizing the housing market. I propose the Feds direct HUD/FHA to offer 4% FHA 30 year mortgages to everyone in the country so all of the homeowners could refinance. Of course, all these mortgages must have an appraisal. |

Eric, I agree that gov't has grown way too much in the last 8 yrs and whole-heartedly agree that the repub's have screwed up plenty. I'm just scared of how much bigger gov't might get.
By the way, small businesses don't make over 250K?!!? You are squarely in his sights! |

I must be blind, we let someone loose for 8 years, and you guys hammer me about spreading the wealth. I lost all faith in the GOP and i am willing to try something new. maybe some wealth should be spread. here is a fact and i dont normally talk business and numbers, our business finished out at 463k and we are trying to go to the bank to borrow money to pay bills. we dont live in 500 k houses, we dont drive new cars, f-k i go to goodwill to buy work shirts. Something is wrong and I can surely see it where maybe the average 9 to 5'r cant. I started with 10 bucks in my pocket and the last 8 frickin years have just about killled me.

Good for You! Your money is yours to spend as you wish, at least for another week. I wish I could think so fast as to come up with a great experiment like that. David |

serves the little tool right?
young kids have never been this excited about and into politics in a long time and now that they're more politically active than ever, you're shoving it in their face? although I strongly disagree with most of your political opinions, I at least see your argument. It's a week before the election, youre going to see political signs places, get over it. If they're being shown/worn by a kid, good for him/her for being active and involved. I go to school in Missouri. I see Obama and Mccain signs all the time. When the VP debate came to my school, there were signs everywhere. this is a good thing... What you did was a d*ck move and you know it--extremely immature. I highly doubt a democrat would have done that if the kid was wearing a mccain tie.... |

I normally try to stay out of political discussions, but this candidate makes me break my rules. If you check into his views on the amendments to the Constitution and the Constitution in general you will see that the economy, which seems to be the main thing on everyone's mind, could very well be the least we have to worry about should the population be fool enough to elect someone with such radical views. That being said, I'm not too fond of the options either but at least our core beliefs won't be destroyed. Being retired, I do little more than complain, research and ski. I just pray that I'm still allowed to do those simple things.

Eric, under Obama's "spread the wealth around" program, how much do you think you and I going to get? Do you think you will be a spreador or a spreadee?

Greg, lets go over the great things that went on the last 8 years.....
here is a statistic that is staggering, the top 1% of the richest people in this country have more money than the bottem 50% of combined people. one trillion dollars if stacked face to face not end to end, using $1000.00 bills would be 68.9 miles high or if you laid them along the road and did 60mph, it would take over an hour from start to finish to drive the distance, .....Bush likes even longer drives 13 or 14 hours worth |

Alarmingly tax brackets are not a new thing. I'm pretty sure I'm not taxed at the same rate now as I was when I worked at Domino's Pizza as a kid. Yes, people are currently taxed differently based on income and Obama is not currently president. Not a new concept.

You might want to double check the special sauce in your sandwich the next time you go to that restaurant.

CHANGES IN THE WORKPLACE
You small business owners out there are preparing for life under a Barack Obama presidency. One of our listeners sent us some new rules for small businesses based on Obama's ideals of change and fairness: As of November 5, 2008, when President Obama officially becomes president-elect, our company will instill a few new policies which are in keeping with his new, inspiring issues of change and fairness: 1. All salespeople will be pooling their sales and bonuses into a common pool that will be divided equally between all of you. This will serve to give those of you who are under-achieving a "fair shake". 2. All low level workers will be pooling their wages, including overtime, into a common pool, dividing it equally amongst you. This will help those who are "too busy for overtime" to reap the rewards from those who have more spare time and can work extra hours. 3. All top management will now be referred to as "the government." We will not participate in this "pooling" experience because the law doesn't apply to us. 4. The "government" will give eloquent speeches to all employees every week, encouraging its workers to continue to work hard "for the good of all". 5. The employees will be thrilled with these new policies because it's "good to spread the wealth around". Those of you who have underachieved will finally get an opportunity; those of you who have worked hard and had success will feel more "patriotic". 6. The last few people who were hired should clean out their desks. Don't feel bad, though, because President Obama will give you free healthcare, free handouts, free oil for heating your home, free food stamps, and he'll let you stay in your home for as long as you want even if you can't pay your mortgage. If you appeal directly to our democratic congress, you might even get a free flat screen TV and a coupon for free haircuts (shouldn't all Americans be entitled to nice looking hair?)!!! If for any reason you are not happy with the new policies, you may want to rethink your vote on November 4th. author unknown |

In a local restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08″ tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference-just imagine the coincidence.
When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need-the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful. At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient needed the money more. I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application. |
