Took our CC Mustang out for the first time on the water this season and we have lost the gas gauge needle. Is the needle not visible if not getting power from battery or source ? Checked back of dash and no wires are lose or missing… not sure how to “ prompt” the needle to reappear

Is the needle gone completely like it fell off of the pivot shaft or is it still on the pivot shaft and you don't know where it's pointing?
How about a close up picture of the gauge with the key in the Run position so that it has power supplied to it? |

![]() Key on and no needle. If i remove power wires it appears mounting screws allow this to be removed from the back/front.. no needle is visible.

It looks to me like the needle fell off the pivot shaft
Pegging it high or low, you should still be able to see the needle.

Like you're thinking, you can remove the wires, remove the bracket on the rear and pull the gauge out from the dash from the front.
Then shake it, turn it over and see if a needle is rattling around in there

Does the glass front come off ? To set the needle back on the pivot point…

Not very easily, you'll probably be prying the bezel off. Usually if I do that, it 's just never the same again. ![]() Here's a link to an old thread by Gary S with some good results |
