Here's a link to a video from their site showing installation of the external receiver unit in the older 725 and earlier surface mount cases.

The original needle and face get used

And if you want new faces to spiff up the old Airguides, here's a quote from a post earlier this year

There is a guy on here and FB that does decals for airguides and the black background. I bought one but haven’t used it yet. Looks good thought. You can FB messenger him. Don Caruthers.

His screen name here is dwcar

A little paint on the needle, a little lens polishing and chrome cleaning and you'll probably have pretty good looking speedometers whether you stay with the original guts or replace with GPS guts Wink

Thanks, cool idea. Though it’d have to be a new/different face?
I actually forget the model number of mine, but it might be saying mine cannot be used. [if mine are 725’s]

You might say that Jonny got you to the right website but not to where you should be on the site. Sorta like halfway to where you want to be. Wink

Your older Airguide needs the older kit with the external receiver because the plastic needle in the new kit doesn't fit the old speedometer and the original metal needle interferes with signal reception with the internal receiver in the new kit.

Surf around their site and you'll find the right place to be.

I guess that would leave you with an expensive pitted faded old speedometer with new GPS guts unless the cases get rechromed and the needle and face get refurbished/replaced

My cases aren’t exactly pretty.
But yeah, I have a set of both, [formerly] white faces as well as black faces. I’m torn which to put back into my boat, the white were what I originally had, and early 80’s I replaced w/ the black.
Soooo, I have both. 🙃

What kind of refurbishment do you need?

Are the chrome cases all pitted and ugly?

Do you have the white faces that are probably a yellowish color after 46 years?

Hey guys, where is the best place to get my speedo’s redone? (76 Ski Nautique)
I’m just about done with a 10 year long process, and down to the wire.
Thanks.
