I have a 1983 Ski Nautique that’s been sitting about 12 years. It ran like a bat out of hell but needed a valve job. I ended up replacing the engine with a rebuild and I rebuilt the transmission. I got busy with work and everything else and it been sitting. The interior needs to be completely redone, new seats, carpet, side rails. The exterior paint is sad. It has wooden stringers that are rotten. That’s the most concerning. Has anyone cut the old stringers out, replaced them with new lumber and fiberglass? Is it worth it or should I just look for one that’s in good shape but needs to be repowered? Any idea what one in that condition would go for?

I told my wife I was going to restore it. She said, you mean pay someone to do it. I said I was going to do it myself. She had a look of terror. Does anybody want it? You’d have to drive to Texas to get it. The trailer needs new tires and probably bearings.
