My name is Jeff Gamble and I live at Lake Winnebago Missouri. I was a promo driver for Nautique from 1997 through 2009. I grew up in my Dad’s 1977 Southwind when I was a kid. I always wanted a 1977 red and white Ski Nautique and finally found on in Colorado. The boat had 450 hours on it.
I contacted Correct Craft and got the history behind this boat. I knew it was redone, paint and interior. This boat actually came out of the factory gold. The second owner did the restoration. This boat was sold as a promo boat to the father of Water Ski Hall of Fame-r Cyndi Benzel. She told me that this was the boat she trained behind the summer of 1977. It is also the last boat she trained behind single. She married her husband later that year.
I have had to do minor gelcoat work and a major repair of a previous repair on the bottom. New red carpet really it off.
Engine is finished. GT-40 heads, Cam, intake, Hitek headers, 3 1/2 inch exhaust, DUI distributor... Just so I can spank the local Mastercrap promos. GPS shows 51mph with Acme 540.
