Personal Buying / Selling Disclaimer

When conducting online business on the CorrectCraftFan.com Forums, there is a risk of deals going wrong or scams. Users are encouraged to use the platform for transactions, but purchases and sales are at your own risk. Site admins are not liable for any losses incurred from using the platform.

Don't be discouraged from engaging on the Forums. Legitimate users far outnumber malicious ones. Take precautions to protect yourself online with research and common sense.

CorrectCraftFan.com carefully reviews new Forum member requests for approval to maintain trustworthy members. The site has had only two malicious seller reports, both interactions terminated before any sale occurred.

Please follow these tips when using the Buy and Sell Forums.

BUYERS

·      Click on the seller's username to view their profile page and history.

·      Verify if the seller is an active participant in the Forums. If a new member registers and their first post is a For Sale ad, exercise caution. Keep in mind that having more posts or being registered for a longer time does not guarantee they won't engage in scams.

·      Inquire about the seller's response time; delays might indicate slow shipping. Review previous posts to gauge the seller's reputation. Request their location and, if possible, have someone local inspect the item firsthand.

·      It's advisable to use PayPal or Credit Card for payments for buyer protection. Act promptly if issues arise, as you have a limited time to file claims. Venmo, Money Orders, and Cashier's Checks are riskier options as they offer less buyer protection.

·      If you're keen on learning more about a member's background, consider searching their username and/or email on Google. Often, their username is distinct and may be linked to other sites they visit. It's surprising how much information you can uncover with a quick search.

Buyers should be cautious to avoid scams when finding deals online. While precautions can help, there is always a risk. Protecting oneself can make it easier to resolve issues if they arise.

SELLERS

·      Include all details about the item for sale such as condition, usage, price, shipping, location, and any known faults.

·      Please ensure to take clear photos of the item you are selling to provide potential buyers with a better view. Avoid using blurry or stock photos.

·      To improve your item's sales potential, consider shipping internationally, as there are numerous users outside the United States who might be interested in purchasing.

We aim to prevent fraudulent users but can't monitor every deal. Members are urged to report suspicious activity and provide feedback on Forum transactions for others' benefit.

Thanks Alison for posting this. Unfortunately we are seeing more and more of these kinda things not only here but in the CC Forums on FB. As Alison stated be VERY leary of a new CCFan member with little site seniority selling stuff. It's probably a scam. As the the saying goes....If it sounds to good to be true.......It probably is!!

Thanks Keith and Alison for all you do to keep this site running. We appreciate it! It's still the best Classic CC forum out there in Cyberland.
