Hoping someone can share what type of tool is used to remove the nut from the aft, interior bolt on each riser. I tried a crowfoot with no success. |

Probably not what you want to hear, but I'd say the same tool you used on the outer nuts but with the whole manifold sitting in your lap or on a workbench for better access. Or remove the front and rear manifold to head bolts, and replace with some long threaded rod or long bolts that will let you remove the rest of the bolts and slide the manifold outward being supported by the long bolts/rod to get some room.to work.

Same idea as the 351 Ford in this picture with a bolt at each end to slide the manifold on. They make it a lot easier to install the manifolds too

Maybe a box end wrench that's been heated with a set of torches and bent to the right shape would work and then you add that to the special tool collection. I'm picturing more than one bend in this wrench when done.

Back to the tool specific on the LS stuff... Yea not a lot of clearance o in the slot bosses in the risers. might have to grind down a ring wrench so as it slips in between the casting and clearance of the fastener. i have an old Mack tool wrench that i adapted just for that purpose.. some of the early LS risers had Allen fasteners... Fun.....
