I need a new winch for my boat trailer. The one I have doesn't appear to have the power to get the boat snug to the bow roller once the out is out of the water. I mostly power launch at my marina because the ramp is steep and the trailer doesn't work well if it is put in too deep. I have SAN 230 and dry weight it around 4500lbs. What weight capacity do you recommend I use? reading online the general advice is 1:1 capacity for wood bunks (i.e. 4500 capacity winch for a 4500lbs boat) but looking at most inboard trailers the winches they use are no where near that. I am leaning towards a Fulton F2 3200#. They look nice and the price is pretty good for the capacity but wanted to see if any one had any thoughts or advice. ------------- 96 Super Sport Previously: 95 Sport Nautique, 1980 Ski Supreme |

For the bunks, I am using hex head bolts and countersinking and through bolting the bunks with a 9/16 SS bolt and lock nuts. Should I use a washer on the top of the bolt so the bolt has more area to bite into the wood or will the 9/16 hex head be enough? ------------- 96 Super Sport Previously: 95 Sport Nautique, 1980 Ski Supreme |
