Practicing for the "clown" act on cut down jump skis. It was a two ski jump out.. He came off the ramp slightly off center, which was fine, but instead of throwing the rope, he pulled in to manage his fall. He ended up inverted, and the handle ended up over his helmet, around his neck. I had the Air Nautique in full reverse and my youngest, Patrick, was a real hero for pinning so quickly. What you are seeing in the picture is the pattern of the grip on the handle.

Pinning freestyle jump is a serious task. Glad he is ok! Good story and learning experience for all.

Holly Molly.
I was just getting ready to buy a Ski Rope Handle with the little safety center section to help keep someone's head from getting caught inside of the rope handle triangle. Now I am doing it for sure. The one that I have been looking at is made by In-Tow, Inc.

I am glad he is OK and it is not a Tattoo.

IMO the jump needs side curtains. Glad he's ok.

Thank God he is OK, scary stuff.
Every jump handle I ever used was too narrow to even be able to fit over the head for this exact reason.

Chicks dig scars....LOL.

Seriously....Glad to hear he's OK. Even better that you were using a pin like you're supposed to. Proof positive that you don't let just anybody go out and try to do this stuff without the right equipment or instruction.

A little duct tape across the V in the handle section can keep a head out of the V

Thank God he is OK. With two daredevil sons I can relate. Last count for the summer was two concussions both wakeboarding , one smoked knee, basketball, one scary neck sprain on the tramp, one dislocated shoulder, football and another sprained ankle on the tramp. My hair keeps getting shorter to hide the gray. #1 son left for Texas this AM at 0300 for a football jamboree with the high school varsity team. Gonna be bald soon at this rate.
Get him back on that jump ASAP. Good job on the pin!

Actually it's allot like barefooting. You need to learn how to fall or your gonna get jacked up bad. I cant really say its anymore dangerous than the dirt bikes or wakeboards or the long boards down Indian hill, etc. etc. I hope you have sons Kevin, you deserve them.

Nothing wrong with Daughters doing all that stuff. Substitute soccer for football and substitute snowmobile for the dirt bikes and my daughters do all that stuff too. We have had concussions, broken femurs, ankles, feet, fingers and arms. No internal soft tissue injuries yet - knock on wood.

Glad the neck handle thing all worked out Seacamper! - Scary stuff!
