would like to know the rarity of my boat. found this site searching for like boats. found a chat about 1973 martinique in 2011. saw that the boat in question was the boat I purchased. we are now restoring it after using it for 2 years. It has gotten a lot of comments, and many want to buy it. its very orange and has 225 hp 318, and to my knoledge 525 hrs. If someone can help, that would be great.

They weren't all that rare, but yet not very common like a ski nautique. I know of one that visits my lakeys every once in awhile. It's a 1972.

I get the loud part. Most on my lake can hear it well, esp. when the 4 barrels are clicking. I want to thank you for response. Sure am hoping to find #s though.

Martiniques weren't too popular, but I'd say '73 was one of the more popular years. Dad ordered an orange and white Martinique back in '73 with a Holman Moody 351. It's current status is not in the family (at this moment, ha) but still around and a head turner., shiny as new. I'll post a pic of it when I find one.

I know this is backwards to resto, but motor will be later. He goes. She got da sanded with 320. then 600, and 1000. buffed through 3m stages. Looks gooood. couldn't believe how much gel they put on back in the day. still have a few nicks, but want to keep it origanal, not to mention the cost of paint. polish all metals and new vinyl. built new wood frames for seats and side panels.

There are 19 Martiniques here in the diaries '71 - '72 - '73
There are probably many more out there that are not listed on this site.
The '73 is kind of unique to it's year, due to a very slight top deck change from the 71 and 72.

Woops, only 18, one of the '73's was a double.
7 - '71's
9 - '72's
2 - '73's    (would be 6, including yours, 2 more in MO that I know of and 1 in ARkansas.

And Joe was right. Mike T. does have one (white w/red)

Your boat wouldn't happen be be the one that was for sale over by the York county court house ? It was identical to yours but really faded. That was awhile back. I think it was on Rt 4.

Back forum ???      Diaries? --- top of this page, right side. Searchable by year/model.

Factory production numbers might be very elusive.   Member - Art Cozier could maybe pull up yours from a serial#.   I could be wrong, but I don't think he is compiling #'s by year and model for totals.

A few years ago the Godfather listed the number per year of Mustangs built. Don't know how he did it but I cannot imagine him counting them all. Maybe they do have that list somewhere

Yeah, long process. Towed it down to Paul in KC. We pulled the cracked up 318, and put in a shiney new one in it's place, or he did, I take no credit.. Its coming along.. It will make it's debut soon

progress hasn't been the best when it came to window frames. no one makes or sells the glazing spline for glass anymore. ours was quite moldy. upholstery is done, but cant put dash back till windshield is done. I tried to show the difference from old to what we've in pics. old finish was taken off, then alumium was polished. NOT lQQking like it sees h2o this year.

The polish job on your windshield frame looks sweet! Did you have it re-anodized after you buffed them?

That dashboard is beautiful. Are those the original gauges from the boat or did you buy those off of eBay or something to replace them to original?

no, we plan on keeping up with everything once its done. It has been quite a task, window frames were taken apart, the glazing had mold pretty deep, we tried finding new, no sucess at all, between hydrogen peroxide and bleech white and some scrubbing, they are as good as it gets. what would anodizing do? we dont want to loose the brightness.

Posted By: 8122pbrainard
Date Posted: August-01-2015 at 9:51am
Bright anodizing will not look like polished but will look like factory. It will be about half way between a mill finish and mirror but also a consistent even finish. The added benefit is the corrosion protection on aluminum.

the temp guage was broke, so that was bought, but needed polish as did the rest origanal to the boat. all new name plates were made. the switches, cigarette lighters and ing. are new also. hasn't been wired yet either. hoping to get dash board upholstered so we can start putting it all back together. we have other projects that need more attention now, so its unlikely she sees water this year. It will help when garage get finished.
