It's that time again. Time for me to bid for next years vacation time.

Do we know the dates for GL 2015?

Also, i know there were several organizers for 2013 and I'd like to throw my hat in the ring to volunteer. Alan, give me a call if I can help over the winter, spring, or summer. I have a lot of time off during the week and I will be staring at the floor for the next 6-8 months.

No dates set for GL 15' We usually get together on this in Jan to discuss the plans for the event. Hang in there. Once we know of the dates especially, we'll post them so everyone can plan..

Wisconsin State Show Ski Tourney is 7/16-7/19 for 2015 FWIW, which would be a conflict for any attendees/sponsors who are involved in show skiing.

Hopefully no one is scared off by that post. I'd have the Tique up there again next year but there aren't enough trucks going from Iowa for it to make the cut.

Dave, let us know how we can help. Brother Ben is talking about going so we'd be more than happy to help with an audio system for the park again.

Ha, I hardly doubt it. Everyone knows or has heard about GL's water..

Yes!!! We'll be in touch. If you can bring the sound system again, that would be awesome.. Look forward to seeing the "Storm-Troopers" this summer !!!

Have Hollywood on standby for a pull back to the ramp! We made a few passes in Pat's boat (on the boom) in 09? right before Tim sucked up a bunch of crud in the BFN. That's the best water for sure!

There's gonna be some cool boats this year....Phil (70cc) and his 1st gen 1963 Ski Nautique, Paul Waters has a "new" 68 Barracuda hiding somewhere and rumor has it ReidP will be bringing a Barracuda as well! Those are just a few off the top of my head that I'm excited to see.

It's getting cold here in Iowa, time to start thinking about next year!

You didn't miss anything last year Justin,it was not official so just a handfull of the diehards showed up. To those who didn't bother to come out,you missed it,the lake was glass smooth all weekend. Usually it's the weekend after July 4. Keep an eye out here for Mojo's info, you'll have a great time if you do come.

GL Update:
CCFans, the dates remain as originally posted. The event will be the weekend of July 10-12... Organizers will be getting together in the next few days to lay out the plans for the weekend, but most likely (and basically due to the success and feedback from the 2013 reunion) we'll be leaning again towards the same type of set up...

And of course the water will be flat and the temps in the mid to high 80's !!!!

For those who haven't yet made an "official" CCFan reunion in GL, put in on the calendar and don't miss out. 2015 marks the 10th Reunion anniversay and promises not to dissapoint !!!

yeah this is the 10th year we've been going there but we actually skipped 2 "official" reunions along the way. The shirt we printed in 2013 said "7th Official" then we skipped last year so this is actually the "8th" Official" reunion.

Justin,
Make it happen !! You've seen plenty of pics from previous years gatherings. These events are not only a way to see and experience multi generations of CC's, but its a chance for you to meet and mingle with some of the finest people, if not some of the best boat restorers one could ever meet. You won't be dissapointed..

There are plenty of hotels and B&B's in the town of Green Lake. There is also 2 campgrounds. I'd invite you to check out the chamber of commerce site for GL and look for accommodations. Everything will be listed..

Also, fo all: If you remember that scary "Bates Motel" on the end of my block that had sat empty for decades, well the ugly duck was basically torn to the studs and made into a really stunning B&B.. I'll get the contact information for anyone interested..

31-34 are on a hill so a bit uneven ground and the 17-24 sites are smaller then most. If you have a tower you will most likely need to fold it down to get under the bridge you pass from the campground launch to the lake.

We have site 27 this year

Hi Peter,
Are you planning on tenting it, or do you have an RV of sorts? Then it narrows it down quite a bit. But if you are down in the lower loop near Quinner, there's plenty of "wildlife" down there to see and experience..

Look forward to meeting you this summer !!

But I did not shoot the deputy... He listens to that song every once in awhile, if we're thinking of the same song. I'm gonna try but looks like I will only make it when I can drive to one in 2 years.

I just booked site 25 since Quinner stole my site 27 as Brian pointed out. But I was really OK with that, as we've all seen evidence that he really needs a relatively level site to drop his boat at.

Hey Everyone, Personal change of plans for us with accomodations. We were originally going to stay at the Bayview so reserved a room for 3 nights but we're now bring the RV up and doing the camping thing.

There are NO rooms available at the Bayview right now so if anyone wants a room please let me know asap so you can reserve my room. I'm going to cancel it shortly and would hate to see someone from here that's been trying to find a room miss out on this one. Send me a PM ASAP, I'll wait a week to cancel.

You taking the Bounder??? Last time you talked it sounded like she was is pretty rough mechanical shape, Did that get restoration work over the winter? You really can't sit still - HA!

Let me know if you need some help, in my current state, I am best suited for "helping" - i.e. you do the heavy lifting I follow along behind and do the simple but menial work (finish taking off the lug nuts, starting the lug nuts, etc...)

Steve, yeah we've decided the Bounders going to get a little bit of Love. She needs a master cylinder, front air bags and maybe some front tires. It hasn't gone anywhere since the last Green Lake but with gas prices so low I think we'll run it around a little bit this summer. We love doing that but it had gotten a little expensive to run. Typically it goes from the storage site to the lake 1 mile away. I still have gas in it from Wisconsin 2 years ago LOL. In fact that gas probably cost me $4/gallon.

Thanks for the offer of help but I'me having a shop down in Clinton do the work for me, I don't crawl under that beast anymore.

again, the biggest meet of her season is in conflict with the GL event.

Wish we could be there.

We're on the fence.    Wedding at the lake that weekend and it's one of the few young couples we hang out with. If it were anyone else (outside family) we'd be a lock for GL.

Not sure how everything will pan out but I still have some hope to make a portion of the GL festivities.

Can I getc some tips to bribe my dad to take us here this summer? Another thing is, are there costs for going? I've read the previous posts about registration and was wondering how much that would be. Last question, what are the sleeping options? Thanks for help in advance.

Lots of Correct Crafts from every era, and a lot of cool people that share a passion for these boats. That should be enough right there....

I don't recall the exact price for registration, but it's not at all unreasonable. It seems like $40 for the boat and one person, and $10 for each additional person? That could be a little off, but it's not very expensive regardless. In the past, this has gotten you a shirt, hat, some other cc goodies, a meal on Saturday night, and some entries into a raffle with some very generous prizes.

Sleeping arrangements are pretty limited. There's Hattie Sherwood Campground, which ccfans usually take over for the weekend. There is a boat launch right on sight. The Lakeview is also a popular hotel. Right downtown across from the lake, and more importantly, next door to the Goose Blind. The Bayview is another hotel, right on the lake with it's own boat launch. Jump on something now, as the hotels are small and fill fast. We'll be at the Bayview, and I'm pretty sure they're full for the weekend.

I'm sure one of the locals will chime in with more, but hopefully that gets you started. Make it happen....it will be worth it.

Rob was pretty correct, however there is always a place to stay in Green Lake.

Green Lake Inn
Dartford Inn
Numerous B&B's in town
Multiple camp grounds

Just google the Green Lake Chamber of Commerce and search places to stay..

Correct, entrance isn't that much and you'd be fed two nights

Just have to tell him it's a "Official Reuinion", the biggest in the country. Expect to see 30-50 boats there of all years. Meeting a bunch of really great people, talking boats over a couple of cold beers, what else can he be doing that weekend??

Make it Happen !!!
If he has any specific questions, have him PM me through the site and I'll be happy to discuss the weekend with him. We've been doing this a long time......

There are also three hotels in Ripon; Comfort Inn and Suites, Ripon Welcome Inn and Boarders Inn and Suites. Ripon is about a 15 minute drive to the east.

Does Dad like to chase the little white ball around the course? Their are two nationally ranked courses in the area; Tuscumbia which has views that overlook Green Lake and Mascoutin about a 15 minute drive to the north. Both courses have hosted "state level" tournaments.

Does Dad like to hunt or fish, I have hunting land nearby, that I would be happy to let him hang out and spend a day in the woods (only you fellow hunters would understand the attraction of a day in the woods in the middle of summer). Green Lake is one of the most unique fishing destinations, the lake is loaded with panfish, sport fish (bass and walleye) as well as "big lake" style Lake trout - so there is a lot of varied fishing activity that is available, again I might be able to find him a fishing boat with trolling motor.
