Pete, Tim and other specialists...

A video tells more than a thousand words, so I took my smartphone:

So, is my shaft bent?
When I put a long screwdriver next to the shaft (tip pointed on the bilge floor and screwdriver shaft next to prop shaft, for lack of a better explanation by a non-english speaking forreigner )I can see it move back and forth a little (read: half a millimeter)

There is no play whatsoever in the strut, prop looks fine and shaft moves nice and freely (checked alignment last week).
I have a negligeable vibration between 2100 and 2150 RPM (between 30-35 KPH, 19-21 MPH)...

Should I start to panic by now...??

Get a dial indicator Kris. That will tell you for sure and you'll use it again with all your mechanical skill.

Ha, that's one of the answers I expected Zach

But, before I spend yet more money on the B(reak)O(ut)A(nother)T(housand), what is your opinion on what you see in the video?

It looks like its moving the shaft log around a bit but that could be inconsistency in the shaft packing? The spec for tolerance in a shaft is .003 or less run out. So its a pretty tight spec but a little room for error.

Kristof,
I agree with getting the dial indicator out. Besides the shaft, the coupling could be an issue too. Ether with a bad fit to the shaft or a coupling face that isn't running true to the shaft.
