Anyone know if new hinges (or anyone have good used ones) are available for my 73 SN? One of them broke over the weekend?

They look to be cast, chrome plated, brass /bronze.

That's too bad - you must have been opening up the doghouse a lot at the show!

It was great seeing your '73 again, what a beauty!

I broke one when the boom cables let loose with a big boy on the end of it.
I replaced both with solid stainless ones from west marine.
So if you just want one decent original, I'll send it to you.
Looks like you may have some issues with the wood glassed into the motor box.

Chris,   A doghouse is a motor box with an open front. Tell jpass too, his '92 don't have a doghouse.

Steve, Hinges should say "Portugal" on the back.

Points deduction for one incorrect screw.

If it was a Ford you would not have had to open the doghouse and all would still be good.

Thanks guys!
I did notice the hinge had a crack in it when I was working on the boat back in June...kinda forgot about.

Lewy, PO said that's original and it came from the factory with one slotted screw.     gotta show off that Chebie!

Chris, good to talk yesterday! Al, thanks for the offer. might grab these and replace both with new. Havent had a lot of time to look yet, but might of found some that look close on good ol http://www.ebay.com/itm/141037838887?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648" rel="nofollow - ebay

Will have to check out what you might have gotten from West.

Al, 92 bucks! ....think I might give the ebay ones a try. I was yankin the chain regarding PO and the screws. I'm planning to replace all of them when replacing the hinges.

JP, thanks for the link. I didn't see any of the strap style on Christies site tho. Want to keep as close to original because of upholstery and carpet marks from old hinges.

Do you have any of those original motor hinges? Just broke one today for my 73 SN.   Thanks. My email is priceipad@gmail,com

Or have any idea where to find one?

John,
did you ever find a hinge for your boat? I was going thru some "parts stash boxes" this weekend, I might have found an extra.
